Her father Douglas Harold Barty b1905 Adelaide, South Australia, his Father George Fredrick Barty b1876 Cudlee Creek, South Australia, then John Barty b 1850 Kirton, Lincolnshire england and I think he died in Adelaide. John's father Thomas Barty b1812 Surfleet Lincolnshire and died in Payneham, adelaide south australia,his father Thomas Barty b1780 Fosdyke, Lincolnshire England, his father William Barty b 1758 Fosdyke, Lincolnshire England. I am from the David Hopkins Bartee line. My grandmother was Gertrude Alpha Bartee Nelson, daughter of John Bartee, son of David Hopkins Bartee.
I am looking for any information on Esther Norton's family. She was the wife of John Bartee.
Also, I would like any pictures that are out there of the David Hopkins Bartee line.

Susan Bartee Satterwhite was my grandmothers Great Great Grandmother. Grandmother was Selah Birdwell Hollis married Seborn Reed in 1897 in Indian Territory in Ardmore, OK. If you could share the copy of the marriage information on Susan Bartee and Satterwhite I would like this information to add to my collection. My family tree is located on ancestry.com I have copies of letters where my grandmother was writing to relatives in reference to getting their roll number with the Cherokee. It is my understanding they failed to meet the dead line. Susan Bartee or sometime spelled Barto was mentioned in these letters. My grandmother named one of her daughters Barto Reed. I thought this to be interesting.

I would like to share info about the Bartee's and Newsom's. My local library has old directories for British Columbia. I found Thomas Bartee listed for the 1930's and 1940's in Peachland, occupation "fruit grower" and "farmer".

I am interested to find the Bartee's and Newsom's in Alberta directories.

Does Dilua Bartee ring a bell? I think her father may have been a Thomas Bartee. Dilua was my maternal grandmother. She lived in the Madisonville, TX area.

Brett, The names of your father and grandfather do not sound at all familiar to me; however, my father, William Bartee, feels that all Bartees are related somehow. Do you have any other names or dates? I know that there were some Bartees who were around in the late 1700's but we don't know all their names, or dates, one of my ancestors was Jessee Bartee, who married Sarah Harkleroad. I grew up in Kentucky and my parents and brother and sister still live there. The Bartees in Ky. came from North Carolina and Virginia, mostly. My father always said there usually were only 4 males in each generation, and you are right, it is scary to be the last.

Robert, my great grandfather is George Francis Bartee. I believe his mother is Elizabeth Ann Haddox and his father is James William Bartee. My grandmother is Fannie May Bartee Arnold. She is 100 years old. I do not have much information but would love to exchange.

In Peachland, BC, there is a monument with Ned's name on it, having died in WWII. I have pictures of Thomas & Gracie's head stones in Peachland as well as pictures of their house. My father was 6 years old, attending school in Peachland. I obtained it from the museum this summer/06.
If you type in Elk Point, AB, you will find a write up on Les Bartee.

I don't know if this is the same family. My g.grandfather, James Barty was born in Fosdyke about 1814. I have been unable to trace siblings or parents. He married Sally Clarke in 1843. They brought up their family in Kirton Fen. The youngest son, born 1861, was William. Another son, John, my grandfather cut off all contact with his family and changed his name. i have his story. Would love to meet any other Barty family members. I live in Chesterfield.

The Thomas you are looking for is not Laura's Thomas (previous message). Your Thomas was the brother of my grandfather. I didn't know them, but my mom knew Dilua and Clyde Skinner. E-mail me and I'll see if I can fill in some info for you.
