Jennifer, I'm encountering more Bartek's than I thought existed in my search. It's quite a bit more involved than I'd expected. I'm sorry I know of no Bartek's from Texas. My grandfather and great grandfather were both named John. My great grandfather immigrated from Slovakia in 1892 and my grandfather was born in Pennsylvania in 1894. Neither, however were ever in Texas to my knowledge. Were you aware that Texas was one of 8-10 (that I am aware of) entry points into the USA for immigrants. I believe Galvaston was one such entry point. Thanks for your interest and good luck in your searching.
