Hello there. I am doing research on the Bartels family for my husband. We are trying to find information on Edward Bartels (my husbands great grandfather). We believe he was born between 1882 -1884 but not sure if he was born in Illinois or not. He lived in IL from 1918 - 1920 as documented by historical records. He married Augusta J Schnackel (although her named is spelled a variety of ways in historical records, I believe this is the correct spelling) and she was from Effinigham, IL. They lived in/around Litchfield and Walshville, IL. They had the following children: Theodore, Harry, Edward, Lutina and Ida Bartels. Augusta later remaried a gentleman named William Huffman. I do not know if she and Edward divorced or if he died prior to 1928. I have located his WWI Draft Registration Card from 1917-1918 which indicates he was an inmate at Jacksonville State Mental Hospital. I also found a 1920 Census record that shows him living at home in Walshville with his wife Augusta and children while he was working at the Railroad. If you have any information on Edward it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks - Julie
