I have information on this mans family. He was born July 1849(tombstone) in Prussia, Germany. He immigrated to the US in 1872 and came to Altona Township, Pipestone County, Minnesota in 1879. He married Emilie Wilhelmine Albertine Schmeling (ka Albertine). Their oldest child was born in LeSeuer. Confirmation shows that child was born in WI. It appears that this family went back and forth from Pipestone County in the summer months (possibly to improve land) and to eastern MN or western WI for the winter months to do lumbering or some type of employment. They are buried at Ward SD cemetery which is across the state line from where they lived. I have all of his children from first and second wives. I would like to find out more information in regard to where in Germany he was from. He appeared to match Mike´s Bartelt.
