I have written a book on some descendants of Joseph Barthel (1787-1862)& wife Christina Lutz (1796-1880)who came to Amer. from Altenstatt, Alsace, 1830 on ship Romulus (out of L'Havre) and settled in Erie County, NY. Looking for descendants of their son Michael (b. 13 Apr 1825 Altenstatt; d. c1909 prob. Calif) m. Catherine Kiefer/Kieffer. They had son Franklin b. c1868 and dau. Florence who m. Alfonso Bell and lived in San Jose, Calif.
