I am looking for the descendants of Catharina Elisabeth Barthel (b.16 Oct. 1872) daughter of Peter Julius Barthel and Marie Lisette Märker (Maerker, Merker) of Bochum, Germany. Her siblings who immigrated to the US/Canada were Charles, John, and Julius Peter. She had another brother named Heinrich Adam and a sister named Ottilia Theresia. I am not sure if they survived past childhood.

We do not know who she married. I know she had three daughters; Paula, Clara and the youngest being Erna (born about 1913) who married Josef Büsch Jr.


Erna and Josef had two children; Heinz-Josef (b. about 1940) and Gertraud ? (b. about 1945). In 1949 the Büsch family was still living in Bochum.


Does anyone know who Catharina married or have any other information about this branch of our family?
