I am a direct desendant of Newberry Button. My father was H. Reginald Button, son of Fredrick Lionel Button (Maud Todd), who was the first son of (Major) John Button (Alberta Jones) who was a son of Newberry.

I have a picture of my Dad as a baby in the lap of Newberry, with Fred and Major John. My Dad was born in 1909. I also have the Jones family bible.

Happy to scan the picture to send - let me know e-mail addresses.

regards
Judith Glover nee Button
if you are interested in some Button family "stories", let me know. I do have a history of the Button Family (have not read it in years so forget much) and if anyone wants a copy, again let me know
jandjglover@gmail.com

I would be very interested to exchange info with you onyour Albert Bartholomew. My grandfather was adopted and although he died before my mom was 8 yrs old, he always said his birth name was Albert Bartholomew. I know he was born in December of 1924 and that he was given up for adoption around Ashtebula, OH. It was also said that he had siblings and that they may have all had to be given up due to problems in the family. Any info would be GREATLY appreciated. Jaimee Chrisman

I am looking for anyone that information about a Carrol S. Bartholomew born in North Dakota in 1880 and married Katherine Baird in Colorado around 1920.

Carrol was Katherine's second husband. They divorced.
Katherine's maiden last name was Westfall.

The 1920 census shows Katherine and son Gerald with Carrol S. I would love to hear from you.

Thanks alot,
Anna in Colorado

I have recently traced my ancestry directly back to John Bartholomew in Warbrough, Oxfordshire, England. I also see that many of the Bartholomews settled in and around Whitehall, New York. This matches with the information I have from my grandmother about her family. I am interested in connecting with (1) anyone else related to the Whitehall Bartholomews (Lemuel b 1727) or (2) Anyone who has been able to trace further back than John Bartholomew in Warbrough, Oxfordshire, England (b 1471).

I truly believe that you and I might have a connection. My Maternal GrandFather's name was Roy Green. His Mother's name was Saloma Green. I know for a fact that they lived around the Strawberry Point, IA area. Here is some other info. I may or may not have; I do not know if my grandfather had any siblings, nor do I know if his Father's name. I know that my Grandfather was born around the time of the late 1880's and early 1890's. I also know that they had cousin's whose last name was Blue. Do you think we have a possible connection?

Bartholomew

My information about the Bartholomew family originated from the records of the Green Tree Church of the Brethren in Oaks, PA. This is a small community about 20 miles west of Philadelphia, near Valley Forge National Park.

Maria Bartholomew lived in Chester County, PA for aparently most of her life. I believe she had a brother John (b. 2/6/1814, d. 4/14/1893) and a sister Eliza (b. ?, d. 4/1892).

Maria married Jessie Miller (b. 1805, d. 1889). They had a daughter, Elizabeth Ann (b. 10/1835, d. 1921) who married my great-great-grandfather, John Thomas Evans (b. 2/14/1835, d. 11/1/1907.

There is a large tombstone in the Green Tree Cemetary with the inscription:

MILLER
1805 Jesse 1889
1805 Maria B. 1887
1845 Jacob B. 1857
EVANS
1835 John T. 1907
1835 Elizabeth 1921
1868 Lemuel L. 1899

The 1880 census showed a Lemuial Evans, age 11, living with his "aunt uncle" Jesse and Maria Miller. I believe it was actually his grand-parents.

On April 1, 1885 Jessie and Maria Miller sold their farm (18 acres) to John and Elizabeth. The current address is 170-173 Hollow Road, Charlestown, PA. I recently visited the farm and have photographs of it.

Sorry that I don't have any information farthur back. I hope you enjoyed reading this.

Joe Evans

I have a picture of a young couple with a small girl (3-4 yrs) sitting on his lap. The man is in uniform. On the back of the picture is written: T/Sgt Earl Bartholomew; Mary Edna Bartholomew and the date Nov. 15, 1943.
I feel this couple were friends of my uncle who was in the Army Air Force in WWII. If any of this rings a bell with anybody, I will be happy to e-mail a copy of the picture.

Hi, my family has traced our lineage back to the Bartholemew's but now I am trying to find out, where the Bartholemew's originated from? What the nationality is and so forth? As my grandparents were the ones who found all of this information out, and since their death in 1998 the information has been lost and I am trying to bring it back to give to my children. So if you are able to help I would greatly appreciate it.
