I have just set up a paternal DNA group for the surnames Barto / Bardo and I encourage anyone from those lines to contribute. Bardo is my mother's maiden name, so my uncle contributed DNA for the purpose of comparison. Our family originates in the Lycoming County area of Pennsylvania: Montoursville, Picture Rocks, Williamsport, Wolf Township, Muncy Creek Township, etc. Because many public records were lost in past floods, it has been difficult to sort out the various Barto / Bardo lines and break through the brick wall. I would love to connect with some cousins through DNA, and compare notes.
