My father's name was Bascom Whitney Johnson. My sister and I have been trying to track down the history of the name Bascom and have only found it as a surname; originally from the Normans.The name was a popular first name in the 1880s, or so, but my dad was given the name in 1924.I would appreciate it if you could share any history you can find on the name
