Hi there~ Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Unfortunately, I don't have much more info, however-interestingly, Susanna had a daughter named Mary Catherine Young(my gr-gr-grandmother)- perhaps named after the sister? I do have some info on her lineal descendants.
Is John Bash a son of Jacob Bash? I don't have any info on him or Mary Snow.
Many thanks!

Susanna is possibly the daughter of John Bash 1795 PA - 1876 Grant County, Indiana who was married to Mary Snow. They had Michael, Simon, Philip, Joseph, Phebe, Martin, Mary Catherine, Samuel and at least one other daughter who's name I have been unable to find. Your Susanna's birth year would fit this daughter. Do you have any other information on her?

Do you know if Agata had a daughter named Sophie Bas(h)? Sophie Bash was my great grandmother and she and her husband John C. Jaworski lived on Long Ave. in Lorain Ohio. She had 12 children (one died in childbirth or shortly thereafter). I recently heard of a relative (brother?) of hers named Roman that had a bit of a temper if I remember correctly.

Parentage of Amanda Bash born 1846 in Ohio or Michigan?

My great great grandmother was Amanda Bash. She was born 23 December 1846, in either Canal Dover, Tuscarawas, Ohio or Girard, Branch, Michigan. In 1869 she married Asa Charles Eastwood in Perrysburg, Ohio. She died 13 June 1903 in Waterville, Lucas, Ohio.

I am trying to determine the identity of Amanda's parents. The 1860 census shows her, age 14, in Middleton, Wood, Ohio in a household with no one else who had Bash as a surname. She was living with Joseph and Sarah Serby, and Joseph and Reuben Hubler. According to her census listing in 1900 (when she lived in Waterville, Lucas, Ohio with her husband and one of her children), Amanda's father was born in Pennsylvania and her mother was born in Ohio.

The 1850 census shows a Bash family, with an Amanda, in Wayne, Tuscarawas, Ohio. I'm trying to figure out whether this is "my" Amanda Bash. The members of the household were as follows:

Michael Bash 43 (born in Pennsylvania circa 1807)
Matilda Bash 22 (presumably 2nd wife?)
David Bash 13
John Bash 10
Amanda Bash 3
Mary L. Bash 2
Joseph Crout 40

Can anyone here prove or disprove that "my" Amanda Bash was the daughter of this Michael Bash? If so, is there any other information you can share with me about this branch of the Bash family?

Thanks in advance,
Beth

I would love to have those pics - I just stumbled last week onto where Henry and Selista were buried. Since I'm in Idaho, I don't think I will be back that way anytime soon. I know Mollie was buried (at least I've been told) with her third husband, William Pevlar, in an Emmett, Idaho, cemetery, about 40-50 miles from here. Hopefully, once the weather warms up, I will be able to find the cemetery - Riverside - and I will take photos of any gravesite. Feel free to email me at budgirl13@cableone.net. I will keep you updated with whatever I find. Thanks!

I received an email with your posting on the Bash list. I am very interested in any information you have on Mollie Bash. We visited the Benkelman Cemetery at Benkelman, NE last May and took photos of all the Bash and Haines grave markers we could find. So, I have a photo of her parents tombstone. Would be glad to share any of these photos if you don't have them and are interested. I am also working on a website which will have all the photos on it. I hope to have it up and running by the end of this month.

My husband's grandmother was Editha Dalton Bash, daughter of William Frank Bash & Elizabeth Rebecca (Edmonds) Bash. William Frank was Henry Orlando's brother. Editha married Kephart Morgan. His daughter, Gladys, married my husband's father, Ray Capehart.

If I run across any information on Molly Bash I'll let you know.

I found this information. I do not know how reliable it is, but looking at Google Earth seems promising for this location.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++

Cemetery lies on land originally owned by Michael Stockberger in late 1700's. After he died in 1800, the farm land went to his widow Charlotte, except for two acres set aside as burial ground. The Stockberger family sold farm to Martin Bash, Jr. after the death of widow Charlotte Stockberger.

Cemetery is overgrown and neglected, and difficult to find. It is located in the middle of farm fields, along the side of a rural road.

Directions to Cemetery:
1. From Greensburg, take Rt. 30 East.
2. Take Rt. 130/Pleasant-Unity Exit.
3. Make right onto Rt. 130 East
4. Follow Rt. 130 East for 4.8 miles. Make right onto SR 2017.
5. Cemetery is 0.4 miles on right. Look for cement steps on hillside.

GPS COORDINATES:
Lat- N 40 14.472'
Long- W 079 28.822'
elev- 1072'

Rick in Indy

I am a decendant of Morant Bash. Family legend has it that Morant took a rich mans place in the union army so that he could join his son John who had enlisted. Morant and John were at Vicksburg after the battle.

Morant received 100 acres of land near Bremen,Ohio from the rich man. Morant left the 100 acres to the Catholic Church. The church installed a sanctuary called Sacred Heart on it. The Sacred Heart Cemetary where Morant is buried is also on this land.

Looking for Obituary for a Susan Bires Simko Kmetz Bash or Walter Bash

I don't know if anyone can help me, I have VERY little info if thats what you want to call it.

I'm looking for the obituary for a Susan Bires Simko Kmetz Bash, she was born between 1865 - 1871 in Czech or maybe Slovania, if I was a betting person it would be 1865 Czech. Some of the people listed in the obituary would be Elizabeth Ondo, Indiana, PA, Paul Bires, ME. Those would be her siblings, Husband at the time of death is Walter Bash. All of this information I received off of another board on Ancestry but have not been able to contact the person that posted the information. Some extra information that may be listed but not sure if it is...........Parents if listed would be Joseph and Mary Bires, maybe children John, Michael, Anna, not sure of any other.
I believe I found her before she married Walter in the 1930 census so she married him after that and I would guess she died within 20 years as she was 65 in the 1930 census.

Sorry that I don't have any other dates or information. I would be grateful for any help at all. If you want you can email privately also.

April

Hi! I am researching my great grand - Mollie A. Bash - the daughter of Henry Orlando and Selista Long Bash. She ended up in Idaho and was married to William Peavler (Pevlar). I am at a total end regarding her second husband (unknown King) father of my grandfather, Charles Herbert King. Any info you might have would be greatly appreciated!
Melanie King

Hi Stephanie; Wow, what a small world!! How old are you now? I think the last time I saw you, you were so little! I'm 45 years old now!! LOL! Are you still in North Haven? If you are I'm only one town over! E-mail me with your e-mail address, and I'll get back to you! I was wondering if years ago the name Bashta was spelled differently, that's why we can't find anything. I even looked at EllisIslandrecords.org and found only one name..Maria, from Austria..I just can't find anyone! Ugh, so frustrating..Well e-mail me, and I'll get back to you! Sincerely, Patty

Re: Bash's Cemetery in Westmoreland Co PA

Am going to Westmoreland County Pennsylvania soon and need to know locations of cemeteries that contain ‘Bash’. I have:

St. James Cemetery Martin Bash
(Lutheran) Matty Bash
Infant Son
John Bash
Mary Magdalene Bash
Barbara J. Bash
Michael Bash
Nancy Bash
Jacob T. Bash
Richard D. Bash

Bash – Summers Cemetery Martin Bash Jr.
(Family) Catherine Bash

Q1) Are there other Bash’s buried in Westmoreland Co. PA, or in PA generally, and where and who?

Q2) How does one find this ‘Bash – Summers Cemetery’? (I know where St. James is.)

Dave
