Charles brother, John.
Pictures would be interesting.
When I was in the Roane County Historical Library, I saw a picture of Sally Basil. I believe this was a granddaughter to Felson and Catherine. She was very dark skinned, but her feachers were Indian. Her children were very light skinned.
I wish I could have gotten a copy, but wasn't able to.
Outside of a marriage date, I do not have much on Charles and Lucinda.
Barb

My father's name was Charles Arthur Basil, he died in 1956 when I was just 5. His father Arthur Basil died when he was twelve and dad and his brothers were sent to live with other people. The family lived in Hardin Co. Ohio at that time. The only living member of my dad's immediate family is my Aunt Lucille who was only two when her father died and she and my grandmother moved to Bowling Green, Oh. Arthur's father's name was Adam and he lived in Licking Co. and was born in 1837 and died in 1906 and that is where our information ends. I have not been able to trace anything back further than Adam. If you have any infor on this line I would appreciate hearing from you.

Hello Aletta,
I'm sorry I can't help you with this family. But oddly enough...I have a picture too!
I recently got some pictures that belonged to my Grandparents that lived in Paulding & Van Wert Co.'s area. Luckily there are names on the back. I searched our family but no match. So I turned to census & found them in 1910 & 1920 there.
The picture (on a post card) is of 3 darling girls, one holding a baby. On the back it says the baby is Ellis & Pearl Basil's boy. I'm not clear if the girls are too? It's sent from Bert & Mattie.
I found Ellis Basil in census & a J.B. Basil with wife Mattie, so must be Bert?
I came here too in hopes I could find some family that would like to have this picture. So...if you ever find any of them, would you let them know there's another out here? They must have been neighbors of my Grandparents.
Thanks,
Dusty

My father was Charles A. Basil, b 1902 in Hardin Co. Oh, his father Arthur Basil was born in Hardin Co, in 1875, and his father Adam was born in 1837 in Licking Co. Oh. That is where my information ends other than Adam served in the Civil War and his wife's name was Roseanna Cross Basil. I am trying to find Adam's father and where the family originated. The only living member of my father's siblings is a sister who was two when her father died and the family did not have much contact with the Basil's after that. I did meet my grandfather's brother Soloman when he was 99 years old in Kenton, OH.

I cannot find her in the social security index. She is related to Andreas Zillinger Holley, although in what capacity I am not sure. I believe she was living in New York City when she died. Any information is helpful.
