My grandmother was a Basila.Latifa.<br>Her father was Habib Basila. He was a stone crafter that made mansions and places to put the dead. He worked for a King in Halab and it used to take him years to work with marble and craft beautiful works of art into them.<br>The king loved him and when it was time to leave he gave him his daughters hand in marriage. Her name was Regina and she came home with him to Canna, where his mother lived and brought her serving women with her and her family used to come all the time for visits. I don't beleive he had brother's he was an only child. But he had sisters that married in Canna. My grandmother said her mother's family generations later moved to New York.
