I'm afraid that I don't know any of his descendants. I do not know if this is the same Joel Baskin as I do not know who his father was. This Joel Baskin married Clarissa (Clara) Wise in 1879, so I expect that he was born somewhere between 1850-1860.

Howard Baskin, born 12/05/1910, parents Archie Baskin & Sallie Smith. He was Negro, living in Atlanta Georgia , born in Georgia (looks like Brennen?), application signed 1/2/1937.

Howard Baskin, born 5/5/1910 in Gainesville, Florida, parents Joshway Baskin & Mary Ross. He was Negro, living in Mayport, Florida. Application received 7/19/1937.

Do you have information on the Baskin family that moved from Houston county Ga to Florida circa 1925 and lived in Palm Beach county in the town of Boynton in 1930 census.
. I am looking for information for a Victoria Baskin born about 1906 who married Carl Massey in 1926. I think Victoria would have been a sister of Richard Milton Baskin and Alva Rufus Baskin and Francis David Baskin all from Ga. I am tracing Victoria's line back to Houston Co Ga. I think.

on August 3, 1840 in Rich Hill, Lancaster Co., South Carolina, died on
February 21, 1917 in Lancaster Co., South Carolina, at age 76, and was buried

Carolina. They had 12 children: W. J. B., John L., Jefferson James Brady,

Carolina, died on April 15, 1895 in Lancaster Co., South Carolina, at age
29, and was buried in Fork Hill Cemetery, Lancaster Co., South Carolina.

William married Mary Jane Baker. Mary was born on March 1, 1869 in Lancaster
Co., South Carolina, died on October 21, 1929 in Lancaster Co., South
Carolina, at age 60, and was buried in Fork Hill Cemetery, Lancaster Co.,
South Carolina.

Mary was first married to W. W. Baskins Jr. He died, and she remarried to

Hello There,
I'm a Baskin from Arkansas. We are from Gurdon, Mabelville and Little Rock. ( And so many more places) I am not sure of our history but would certainly look into it for this sort of thing. We seem to be Irish, Scotttish and British mutts. Digby is one of my surnames.

I think we landed in Philadelphia but am not sure. I know we were part of the "Pretty Presbytarian" (sp) movement- Before the potato populace that got the later Irish damned. BY THE WAY- I AM PROUDLY IRISH AND DOO NOT AGREE WITH THE CONDEMNATION OF THE IRISH FOR THE PLAGUE or THIER RED HEAD-ED NESS OR JUST THE FACT THAT THEY SUCK! I am kidding! I am Irish. My God of Blarney- I hope this site has a sense of humor.

joanne i am from the baskins family also. i am from florence alabama. the walter baskins is in our family tree also. we are from the john baskins family also. i have some of the history on the john baskins descendents. my greatgrandfather was moses baskins. he had a brother named ade and also walter. would love to hear some of the information.

I know Fannie had 2 brothers, John and William Philo Baskin (my gggrandfather). Her father was John and her mother was Olivia Loughridge. Olivia died young and William Philo ran away from home so I have no info on the 2 Johns from Gwinnett County, GA. Do you know anything?

Tommy have you any information on Elizabeth Miranda Baskin/s parents who married Nathaniel Morgan Beckham of Lancaster Co. in 1846. They had a daughter, Elizabeth Amanda in 1847 and a son, William Franklin b in 1849. Apparently Elizabeth and the children died before the Lancaster Co. 1850 census where N. M. Beckham is head of household with no wife or children. Of course the Baskin relatives could have taken the children but there is no mention of either in any of N. M. Beckham's information after 1849.

I have a copy of a very old Bible where this information is recorded - most likely N. M. Beckham's family Bible.

I would appreciate any information.

Katharine Christine and Robert Maple BASKIN

Last seen in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on March 1, 1989

Vital statistics: Katharine was born on August 11, 1980. Sandy brown hair, blue eyes. She has a birthmark on her neck under her hair and a space between her top front teeth. She may use the nickname Christi. Was eight at the time. Robert was born on November 16, 1981. Brown hair, blue eyes. Was seven at the time.

Circumstances: The children were abducted by their non-custodial maternal grandparents, Marvin and Sandra (KUYKENDALL) MAPLE. Photos and vital statistics for them are posted below. At the time, the children were in the temporary custody of them after allegations that the children's parents sexually abused them. The allegations were determined to be baseless and police fear harm may come to the children as the Maples stated they would kill the children before they were turned over to their parents. The Maples were living with the children in Santa Clara, California, from March 10, 1989 to August 1989. Police say the couple may be driving a tan, customized van with license plates from a southern state. A FBI Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution Warrant was issued for the abductors on April 6, 1989.

Marvin Maple-Vital statistics: Born on January 14, 1936. Brown hair, blue eyes. He may use the alias names of "Ray Farmer" or "Harvey Wilson". Was fifty-three at the time.

Arkansas Baskins

My husband's father, Jesse Lee Baskin of Haynesville, LA, died five years ago. My husband is now interested in his family history, so that he can pass it on to our 13-year old son (the only grandson to carry on the family name). My husband knows that his grandfather was Ceceil Baskin from Columbia County, Arkansas. He was married to Tommie Cooper. Ceceil had two brothers named Oscar & Fred. My father-in-law had one brother (Donald Curtis or Curtis Donald) and two sisters (Catherine & Jeanie). Beyond that, we are lost. I would like to surprise my husband with some family history and would apprecaite any help.

Samuel Crawford married Selina Ledbetter...I think she was a sister to Joseph B. Ledbetter but I can't find anything that shows this. I think Samuel moved to Smith County, Texas with Joseph B. I'm not sure of the year about 1860+

Esther (maiden name unknown), born 1864-65, Russia, died before 1920 in Chicago had 4 children, of which I know a little about 3 of them.

(1) Freda BASKIN, born 1883-1884 married Samuel KAPLAN. Samuel was born about 10 April 1881 and they married 1903-1904. They had 4 children: Arthur KAPLAN (born 1904-1905), Morris KAPLAN (born 1906-1907), Rebecca KAPLAN (born about Aug 1909, Chicago; died before 1920, Chicago) and Jeanette KAPLAN (born about Jul 1916, Chicago).

(2) Martin BASKIN, born 20 Feb 1885-1887, died after 1920.

(3) Rosa BASKIN, born 1891-1892, Russia.

What I'm trying to find out whether the above Arthur KAPLAN married Esther LIBMAN and had 2 children, Ellen Mae and Earl.
