1870 William Gaskins & Nancy Gaskins are shown with two children, Mahala & Ellafair or Ellafain.

1880 William Baskins & Malinda Baskins are shown with two children, Mahala & Ella. The ages are correct for the children.

Does anyone have these folks in there records and can verify this families last name?

I find a birth announcement on LDS showing that Mahala Gaskins bore a son, Wiley, in 1888 and the father was shown as Mr. Wynn. I have not been able to find any marriage material for these two.

In 1900 the Pasco Co FL census showing Willie Winn & Mahala with children: James, Wiley, and Clara. It states they have been married 15 years. They were born in FL but parents for both were born in SC.

In 1910 this family was settled in Perry, Taylor Co FL but the name appeared as William Wynn. These are the folks that my mother called her grandparents. She actually lived with them so that is verified.
Hi! I haven't posted on this site for a while, but am still consumed with this hobby! I've been working on trying to get my database as complete and accurate as possible, and am getting ready to submit my updated gedcom to my worldconnect site, which is:

http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=barbdale...

One of the things I am trying hard to do, is get all the obviously related people in my database, in their correct families. As you probably well know, the above named familes married and married and married in Johnson Co., Arkansas over the past 150+ years!

If you have any of the above surnames in your line, please check out my world connect site, and let me know of any additions, corrections, etc. If your line is in mine, I'd love for you to write me directly at:

barbarashultz@flash.net

so we can 'connect'!

My most direct lines are:

William C. Baskin (1782-1865) & Rebecca Gibson
Frederick Laster (1780-1852) & Nancy Smith
Thomas Yandell (b. 1803) & Lucretia Bowling

I hope to hear from a lot of you soon!

Barbara

Robert Baskins

I am searching for more information on ROBERT BASKINS and his ancestors/descendants. I have very little information on him and would like to find more, since he is a direct relative.

All I know about Robert Baskins is that he was married to a woman named NORA CHRISTMAS and they had a daughter named MINNIE JANE BASKINS, who was born in 1892 in Casa, AR (county?)

I do not know any dates or locations on Robert, but I am guessing that he was born (or at least lived!) in AR since his daughter was born there. I am guessing he was born sometime between 1850-1875, which would make him between 17 and 42 when Minnie Jane was born.

I know this isn't much to go on... I do apologize. If anyone knows anything about this man, I would REALLY appreciate it!

THANKS SO MUCH!!!!

-Ali

BASKIN, BASKINS------Nancy 1820 Giles Co Tenn

Just recieved the following information.
Roane Co Tenn Court of Pleas and Quarter Session Minutes 1805-1807 (3rd Monday of March, 1807)
Transcribed book page 160.
Document refers to the numbers 146, 147, 148 with no explanation as to what they are.
The State vs. Edward DAVIS, Rachel DAVIS, Nancy BASKINS # 545. Original is found on page 321.

12 jurors at the court house in Kingston.
Edward DAVIS having heard the Bill of indictment says he is NOT QUILTY.
He and Rachel and Nancy are told to appear at the next court on the 3rd Monday of June 1807.

Rachel and Nancy having heard the Bill of indictment also plead NOT QUILTY.

(All three had an attorney, who is also not named).
Jury picked and NAMED (pg. 322) Jury finds all 3 QUILTY and all three are FINED. Edward is fined $10.00, Rachel and Nancy are fined "six and one fourth cents" (probably means $ 6.25 ???) Defendants must pay court costs.
Records found at the Tenn. state Archives in Nashville, from typed-transcribed book on Roane Co Tn records.

1805 Tax list for Roane Co. lists Mosey Baskins and a Edward Davis.

The researcher who sent this to me is thinking Nancy's maiden name may be DAVIS. Rachel Davis may have married a WILLiams.Edward Davis left Roane Co Tn and moved to Little Emory River, neighbor to Robert Samuel Brashears, early settler. Edward in Roane Co in 1799, 1812 in Giles Co Tn, dau Lucy Ellis Davis married Jessee Brashears to Crawfor Co Ark, then to Johnson Co Ar..

Does anyone have a DAVIS IN ROANE CO TENN ???
Wanda Greathouse wgreath760@aol.com
