Hello Cousin! I have just started on this Bass line of ours. Some say she was the daughter of Joseph Matheny/Mathenia and that she married a Bass prior to her marriage to our Nathan Wickham. But, the marriage year they give, she would have only been 14? Doesn't sound right to me.

Jemima and Nathan were married in Guernsey Co., OH and there was an Elias Bass in Guernsey Co. in 1820 census. There was definately a father/son or father/son-in-law
or maybe even brothers in the same household with their families. I also think that the Elias Bass that went on to marry Lucretia Perkins was also here (I think it may be Jemima's brother, nephew or cousin?)

I see Bass in the area's of NY that our Wickham's were in. I even found an Abisha Bass! (Abisha is the nickname/middle name of our Benjamin's son Byshere.) I didn't find an Elias but I found E Bass in Otsego Co., and Abisha in Rennssalaer Co. NY But I actually think Eleazer was the E. Bass???

Jemima belongs to one these Bass men, but which one is the question!

It's been awhile since you posted this. Maybe you have found which one?
