It seems that we are distant relatives. Ilija Zmijanac is my uncle, and I know his wife and elder daughter Gordana. He has younger daughter, Romana. Ilija passed away several years ago, unfortunately.
I can help you in completing some of the data in your family list.
I was surprised to find myself and great part of my family in it.

I am Angela Theresa Egic . . .
And we have history, my father the first American born out of Serbia. We believe one of my grandparents was from Croatia. Grandmother's maiden name is Svilokos or something like it . . . do not know the correct spelling or if that is it.

Would love to chat about this. Grandmother had brothers and Grandfather, Petrov Egic (Egich?) may have also had brothers, etc. My father once had a letter from London, England, dated 1947 from a Robert Egic. I have a cousin named Robert Egic, but he was not born in 1947. I believe it was my father's uncle. I have not found any Egic's in England in recent years, though.

my name is evica, i live in rozenburg, holland.My mom is ank curovic-bergwerff (not bergwerfer)and my father was stevo curovic (1949-1994) My grandparents are jovanka&ante curavic.They live in split and on krapanj.They used to live in grubisnopolje when we were little.
I have a brother named ante hendrik (anton, 23 years old) and a sister jannetje jovanka (janneke, 23 years old)they are twins.
I'm 26 years old and married to dennis 't hart, we have one child together. We all live in rozenburg, holland.

In my father’s tree, his grand grandmother maiden name was Vukelja. Only information I have is that Nada Vukelja b.1947 in Orlovac, has been married with Ilija Zmijanac b.1946 in Veliki Zdenci.
Their daughter Gordana b.1969 in Bjelovar, is married with Josip Brezina. I don’t know any information about Josip`s parents, but maybe you can make some connection.

Looks like you have extensive information already, but we can share some common ground. We are descendants of Anton Brezina and Justina Jaros who lived in Jelisavic, Croatia and were part of the parish of Orahovica. Anton was born in Zdincey, Austria-Hungary, but identified himself as Bohemian. Justina was born in Nasice, Croatia.
We are familiar with Veliki and Maili Zenci and Orovac.

We have some research back into Anton's parents, etc. but little information on Justina's side. We would be happy to write you further if we can be helpful.

I am trying to find information on relations, Lazzarevich, who were born in or around Brica De Cattaro, Delmatia in the early part of 1800. Affalt Lazzarevich was married to Annetta/Arretta and had at least 3 children Spero, John and Tripolo. Annetta went with John and Tripolo to USA and Spero went to Australia in the early 1850's.
Does anyone know of this family or have any suggestions like Web Sites that I may be able to track them down in Delmatia, Slavonia?

It is nice finally to make a contact with Bastasic from Sheboygan.
Last time I have try to found your family members I have send an E-mail to Miss Roberta from Sheboygan, because I have seen her article Supply of summer work seekers far outstrips demand
And she has mentioned Brandon Bastasic, 18, a senior at Sheboygan North High School….. But she couldn’t help me.
I have mentioned this just to see that I have try …

So I’m working on Bastasic Genealogy for a last two-three years, and I have collect some information’s and documents.
I have found even Gabriel Bastasic WWI Draft card. Julia is noted like his wife, and his date of born is 26.April 1876. If you don’t have I’ll send it to you.
Please to try to be more specific with the place from Gabriel and Julia have come. Are they came from Slovenian territory or maybe from the place in Croatia, very close to Slovenia like Zumberak, Sosice, Drasci Vrh, or Mrzlo Polje?
I have found on the internet how Sheboygan’s Bastasic have been brave during the wars. Because they are descendants of Uskok`s , great warriors against Ottoman forces from 16-19 century.

Hello from Sheboygan, Wisconsin, USA!

Was reviewing the geneaology on my maiden name and found the opportunity with a message to this message board.

My father, Peter Bastasic, was born and raised here and is now 84 years old. He has four bothers and one sister. Their parents came over to the United States from Yogoslavia in 1906 and settled directly in Iron Mountain, Michigan with a group of 7 people.

His parents are Julia and Gabriel Bastasic raised in the area of Slovenia. Before arriving in the United States, they moved to Austria. Julia's maiden name is believed to be Pollic or Barwitch.

It's wonderful to know that you are researching your family's lineage, I also like to do the same. Please feel free to email back.

I have several of these surnames in my family tree. Lolic, Glodic, Trvdorijeka, Maric and Bartl. My grandfather Dushan was born around Grubisno Polje, as was my grandmother Kata Glodic Lolic.

ZUMBERACKI, USKOKI UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF IVAN LENKOVIC
In 1551 Lenkovic leader of 315 Zumberacki soldiers was assigned by the King, 12 Dukes as family tribe leaders. These Dukes received a yearly salary of 24 forents. With these Dukes was a flagbearer, one trumpeter and one drummer. Each in this group received 20 forents per year. The foot soldiers were paid 8 forents per year.

The 12 Dukes assigned as leaders were titled as Captains; leading as before their family tribe, assisting Austria in the war against the Turks. The names of the chosen Dukes, 12 in all, are as follows: Vranes Badovinac, Radovja Bastasic, Pavle Klisuric, Nikola Ivanovic, Lobat Popovic, Novak Nikolic, Stephan Vrancic, Radman Vucetic, Dragisa Vrancic, Sinio Vrajlovic, Radoslav Vulovic and Daja Vulovic. Flagbearer: Vrnes Vukicevic; Drummer: Radic; and Trumpeter: Janko Gasparovic.

In 1567, 100 forents was granted to Duke Vranes Badovinac, Radovja Bastasic and Rade Vujeivic; 400 forents were given tot he Uskoks as compensation for their loss caused by the Turkish War. King Maximillian II on this same date honored the above three Dukes with a title of Nobleman. In 1567 Vranes Badovinac, Radovja Bastasic and Rade Vujeivic were further granted a Kingly Crest. This was the highest honor Emperor Maximillan II could place upon these men, for their leadership of the Uskoci Army.

In 1569 the remaining Dukes were enobled as well by Emperor Maximillian II. They too, were given the added benefits. The Emperor knew by doing this he could depend on his noblemen to include Zumberak’s people into all of the Austrian’s future war plans.

I`am researching the Bastasic family from former Yugoslavia, mainly from West Slavonia, Grubisno Polje and Veliki Zdenci. The oldest one in my tree is Djuro Bastasic and his wife Ana Vukelja. His son Mile was born in 1870.He was my gren gren father.The first information about my roots I have found in the year 1536 in Zumberak,Croatia.
In addition, I'm researching the Grba family, the family of my mother.
Any information would be appreciated. I am also willing to share the information that I have.
