FRANK A. (BUD) BATA
Frank (Bud) Bata, son of Frank T. and Julia Bata, was born and raised in the Dresden vicinity. He married Bette Margaret Bowles, daughter of Ada and Walter Bowles of Osnabrock. They purchased the Abe Krahn farm near Langdon and lived there until moving to Langdon in 1965. They continue to farm in the Langdon - Dresden area.
Bette taught rural school for two years before her marriage. She has been active in community and church organizations. She taught CCD for many years and was an active Club Scout leader. Bette has been employed in the office of the CCMH since 1971. They are members of the St Alphonsus.
The Bata's have three sons: Brad, who lives and farms in the Langdon area. He entered the Army 17 Oct 1969 and served two years as a medic, including 18 months in Ansbach, Germany. He married Yvonne Florence of Union and they are the parents of two children: Brian and Bridget. Gary and David are graduates of UND. Gary married Regina Geller of Scottsdale, Az and they live in Denver, CO. David also lives in Denver, CO.--recorded 4/85
