Hello.

Uncle Otis was my great uncle. I'm in CT... I'm L'il Susie's daughter, and Nancy's granddaughter. We lived at his house when we relocated from MI. I know you both, but I'm fairly sure you don't remember me. Sherece, I visited DC in March for Uncle Curtis' funeral, and was able to visit with Aunt Hazel and your Uncle Arnell, among others.... sorry I didn't get to meet up with you then. Plan to go back in September if I can. I hope to meet up with you then.

If you both sign up on Facebook you'll find a lot of us there, young and old. Many memories of Uncle Otis and his Hog (Motorcycle).... I'd love to share them with you Sherece!

I am seeking any information on the Batchelor families that lived in Tasmania. My great grandfather was George John James Batchelor who married Annie Alice Woodward. Would love to know more about their families, where they lived and raised their families. Do you happen to know where in Putnam Co. Cordy and Mary lived? Where are they buried, have any idea?

Look forward to hearing from you again.

THANKS SO MUCH,

SHEILA

Part of last reply
The subject of this memoir was the last one of a family remarkable for service as Confederatesoldiers. He was one of six brothers who served in the same company with the writer, Leverett, David,Early, Soloman, Richard, and Cordy. They had one sister. Thus did the aged father give up all his boys to the Southern cause.

David was fatally injured at Spottsylvania, May 19, 1864. At the risk of his own life, Leverett stayed with David until the end and then with his bayonette, dug a shallow grave and buried his brother. Soloman,Cordie,Richard, and Early suffered for months in Northern prisons.
My great great grandmother was Sarah Poyle Batchelor and her father was William and mother Lucy Anne ….could this be the same family?

Sarah married George Buckham at St George the Martyr, Southwark in 1837 and in 1844 they came to Australia.

Sarah’s death certificate transcript said her mother was Louisa Osbourne, but Lucy Anne could easily have been misinterpreted by the grandson who didn’t know her as Louisa or by the person writing the certificate. Lucy Anne was the name on the immigration papers as Sarah’s mother.

hi, I'm related to Polly Batchelor...my tree:
Laura Kinney McEver, martha Frances Cruce, Polly Batchelor.
I'm trying to find out some information on Reuben Batchelor who was Polly's grandfather. I know that he had 3 wives: Lucreatia Carter, Peggy Couch, Martha Brazill, but I can't find a death certificate or record of his death, which I believe was in Orange County, NC, 1859, but he still is in the census in 1860.

Looking for info....if you have any questions, my tree is the McEver/Kinney tree.

I'm in NC. This is my mother's side of the family. My mother: Betty (McEver) Curtis, her mom: Laura (Kinney) McEver, her parents were: Herschel Kinney and Martha Frances Cruce:
Martha's parents: John M Cruce and Polly Molly Batchelor, William Batchelor and Sara Craig, Reuben Batchelor and Lucretia Carter(wife1), Peggy Couch(wife2), and Martha Brazil(wife3). Reuben was a busy guy. I've gotten Reuben's father as Solomon Batchelor and Sarah Boswell, and Solomon's fathe as Stephen Batchelor and Mary Manning, Stephen's father(I'm not sure about these names) Stephen Batchelor, Sr. and then his father is Joseph Batchelor(1668, Virginia) and mother Mary (1670).
Does any of this sound familiar?
I'm not sure if Reuben died in GA or NC.
Where do you fit in and are you in GA?

I believe my tree is listed in the public trees under Kinney Family Tree or just Kinney Tree.

That would be great if you could find out about Reuben.

If you want to email me straight that would be great. puddinnn1@yahoo.com

I also have a family picture that was identified as Lorenzo Dow and Millie Batchelor with some of their kids.

Thanks.
Hi, thanks. Yes, I have checked everything! According to the 1910 census he was born in georgia, and so were both of his parents. However, I can't locate them. I also found out that he was probably buried in Florida. Checked there, too. I have looked at newspaper obits and all that I can think of. Anything else I can do? I also tried to find him in the 1880 census. He would have been 10 or 11. The only one I found was the son of Early, but that is Leverette's brother and I'm not really sure that is the right person. I was attempting to find an obit where his parents names were listed.

HI, I have been researching my husband's family and have located Jim W. Bachelor. The spelling is incorrect, but I know for a fact that he is my husband's gg grandfather. He was marred to Lucy. Father to Len, Claude, Georgie, Oscar, Early and Robert. Anyone know where to go from here? We are all in the Mitchell County, south Georgia area. The correct spelling is Batchelor with a "t" but that is how I found Jim. Thanks for any help!
Christy Batchelor
