I am looking for the father of Willis Clinton Bateman who was born 1880 in Amherst Ct House, Virginia. I believe his father's name was William Bateman who died abt 1880, leaving Willis Clinton and his mother Emma Alice Humphries Bateman. She remarried Joseph Pelter. Her son married Florence Hester Craft of Alleghany County, Virginia and they moved to Herington, Kansas in 1902 where W. C. was an engineer for the Rock Island RR. His mother and Joseph Pelter also moved to Kansas about 1899.
