I am still looking for infor regarding my family roots The Bates in Polk Co. TN and Bradley Co. TN. I did find out That my grandpa Clyde Bates was adopted his dob was 1891 and he died 1in 1964 he married Mellie Young and she died in 1938 I found there graves along with my daddy's through findagrave.com Thank you so much for this site. I joined this site so I too can help people find loved ones. I found out that my dad's sister Ollie died last July (07) in Ocoee, TN. and that I also and a few cousins die too. I have not contacted them yet, I have not seen them in over 35 years, I did not want anyone else to die on me. I to have an Uncle Charlie Bates from TN he died but I don't think I am related to Ruth, though my family would move back and forth to Ga, they did not go to Huntsville that I know of, My dad's family was Grandpa Clyde, Grandma Mellie, Aunt Annie, Aunt Mary, Aunt Edna, Uncle Richard, Uncle Mark, Uncle Herbert, Uncle Joe and my daddy Willie Cannon and of course my Aunt Ollie Mae. They were born in Cleveland TN but were raised in Benton TN. I really wish I Knew who were the birth parents of Clyde Bates and the Parents of Mellie Young. I can't seem to find anything on her at all. If anyone has any info Please let me know.
