NW Ohio Batesons - Pre 1877

My g-g-grandfather was Harvey F. Bateson 1858-1911, Wood Co., Ohio (married Martha "Marie" Jane Hillard). His parents were Richard Sarah Bateson. I have some reason to believe my g-g-g-grangparents where in Duram County, Ontario for the 1861 census.
Does anyone have any leads that may help?

My Great Aunt Anne Bateson(nee NcNellis or McNelis)emigrated to Chicago from Doonalt, Glencolmkille, Donegal, Ireland. She was born about 1891 and died 1968,and her husband was Patrick Bateson. They had a daughter, Patricia who married John Zielinski and had 3 children. Her sister, Mary Dougherty, also went to Chicago. Her brother, Con McNelis, my Grandfather, emigrated to Scotland and a firther brother and sister remained in Ireland and did not marry. I would appreciate any information on the family and would like to contact descendants of Anne and Mary.

I am looking for information on Charles BATESON's father. I believe he was Harry BATESON b. 1858 in Brompton, Yorkshire, England. I have been tracking the BATESON family in Yorkshire, England and I lose track of Harry BATESON about the time he shows up in Wisconsin. I would just like to confirm that this is in fact the same Harry BATESON.

Help needed Searching for John Bateson b abt 1810 Somercater Lincolnshire. Wife Rebecca B 1822 Grainthorpe Lincolnshire. I have then on the 1861 and 71 England census living in louth. They have aprox 11 children on these two census forms. I cannot locate then b4 that or after. However their son Alfred < my grandfather > can be found on the 1901 and 1891 census.

Lancashire (Bateson) - Pligrim Fathers.

One of my relatives now deceased had our family tree traced back to the time of the Pilgrim Fathers. Apparently, the Bateson link is connected with Lancaster Castle (Lancashire - UK).Does anyone in the USA have ancestors traced back to the time of the Pilgrim Fathers by the name of Bateson, if so... did he have any offspring ? Any help or advice would be appreciated.
From what we've been told Lancaster Castle should rightfully belong to the Bateson family if we can prove a link in the USA and that the Bateson concerned had offspring or not.

I am looking for any decendants of Arthur Bateson and Mary Hannah Bateson. Emigranted from Nelson, Lancashire to Ma then Ca. Children Florence and Ernest H. Bateson. Florence was a teacher in Banning Town/City in the 1930's. Ernest was an accountant in Los Angeles in the 1950's. He had one child: Garrie Bruce Bateson born 1947.

Greetings. I am trying to verify some information that I have. I am trying to find the ancestry of Abraham Bateson, born 1794, Christened 24 Aug 1794 in Horsforth, Yorkshire. He married a woman named Mary and had at least 4 children. Familysearch.org had a William Bateson listed as his father, but no other information about him.
I found a William Bateson, born abt 1763 on OneWorld Tree in Horsforth to a William Bateson, who's father was named Abraham.
I know I "probably" have the right family, but I wanted to know if anyone else had any information that might help. The person who listed the tree on One World Tree did not have any contact information.

Perry Co Ohio Batesons

I am looking for the parents of Phoebe Bateson born in Perry Co in 1804. ( Fairfield Co then ) She married Jacob Walters on Mar 22, 1827 in Licking Co. The 1830 Ohio census shows only one Bateson in Perry Co., named Lewis. Jacob and Phoebe came to DeWitt Co Illinois in 1834 and settled in Wilson Twp. The 1850 DeWitt Co census shows a younger Lewis Bateson living there, (possibly a younger brother) that was born in Ohio. I suspect that the 1830 Ohio Lewis Bateson is Phoebe's father, but have not been able to prove it. Any help would be appreciated.

Researching BATESON in the Preston-Brindle area of Lancashire UK. Richard Bateson and Hannah Atkinson married 25/12/1823. Richard's parents probably John and Anne. Richards's son John, married Ellen Nixon 7/8/1847, their son Cuthbert Bateson married Jane Kirkman. Does any of this ring a bell somewhere? Would like to know more about John and Ann in particular or find anyone else up the same tree!! Happy hunting.

I am looking for a relative to Robert Bateson lived in Lancashire, England. Robert was born in 1840 married Kasiah. Kasiah had one child born John Bennett in 1864, Robert and Kasiah had a son John Robert born 1879. Kasiah and son John Robert came to the US in 1882 lived in Paterson NJ. Robert Bateson and John Bennett came over shortly after. I know this is a long shot but does any of this ring a bell.

My Mother's name was Lois Anne Bateson (Vore). She passed away when I was very young and I never knew much about the family ancestory. What I do know is that her father's name was Ernest Raymond Bateson and that he was married to Sarah Catherine Gaertner. His father was Charles Raymond Bateson who was married to Anna Sereptar Tussing. Trying to get in touch with anyone who would have information on this family line. John Bateson/Beetison and Hannah Whitehead>Eng-1810-1848

Hello,

My GGGG Grandmother, Hannah Whitehead, married David Hirst in 1834 in Cheshire England. I found their naturalization papers and they came through New York on April 3rd, 1848. They had 10 children with them when they came. Four of them with the last name of Bateson/Beetison. I found the marriage record of one of the daughters, Jane Bateson/Beetison, and it lists her parents as John and Hannah. So this leads me to believe that Hannah Whitehead was married to a John Bateson/Beetison before David Hirst. Does anyone recognize any of these Bateson/Beetison names?

Ruth b. 1831
Jane b. 1833
Emma b. 1834
Israel b. 1837 (this date may be wrong but according to census records, this is his approximate birth date.) The reason I say this is because she was already married to David Hirst in 1834, how could she have a child by John Bateson/Beetison?

Just checking out the new look of the boards when I saw your message. Sarah Kiger who was married to the Bateson in Oh was my Gr Gr Grandfathers sister. Sarah's parents and some of her siblings, nieces and nephews are also buried in West Millgrove, Sarah's parents came from Faifield Cty Oh in 1868.
