Hi, I am looking for anyone in the Batman family who is or has researched the above 4 people.
William and Mary Batman came to Australia in the late 1790's on the ship "Ganges". William was serving 14 yrs as a convict, Mary was allowed to come as a free settler. Both sons John and Henry were born here in Australia. John was famous for being the founder of Melbourne, Henry was also well known as the first constable of Police in Melbourne in 1837.
I know there are other children to the marriage. Including a sister called Maria who married a man called WHITE
I would love to hear from anyone who can tell me more about my family or would just like to swap information.
