BATTAGLINI In Detroit MI

Just on the slim hope that someone may be familiar with this family.

Louis Battaglini born about 1855 in Italy, his wife Louisa born about 1863 in Michigan. They had 2 known daughters; Josephine born about 1887 in Michigan and Florence born about 1891 in Michigan.

In the 1900 census, it states that Louis came to the US in about 1870. Louisa's parents were also from Italy but I can't locate them beyond the 1870 census in Michigan.

I also know that Florence married and later divorced Harold Newton, also born in Michigan.

I have also found that Louis was a saloon keeper and also a grocer before he died.

I'm mainly interested in finding Louisa's correct maiden name but any info on this family would be very appreciated. I have found various sources listing Louisa's maiden name as; VICE, WISE and MACK. There's also a possibility that MACERONI may have been the original spelling.

Thank-you,
John
