Looking for ayone who may have had Batten's emigrate to Newfoundland late 1700's..There appears to have been a few common Batten names in this time frame in Nfld... The names - Thomas & Arthur were found late 1600....Other Batten names were Samuel , William, Thomas..Our family Christian names are Isaac & Joseph..Has anyone any long lost Battens who seemed to jump off the ends of the earth with these names????...Most were sea man who built and owned schooners....early Batten's were of the Anglican faith and included ministers..any help would be appreciated...
