My line is William A. Batterson of Fairfield, CT. he married Abigail Hendrick Baker 11 June 1821. They had 2 daughters, Mahala and Sarah. I am descended through Mahala. Does anyone know where I can find proof that Wm. and Abigail are indeed the parents?

Neal E. Batterson, of Rochester, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at age 69.
Neal was born July 6, 1936 in Rochester, NY the son of the late Harold Eugene and the late Zosia (Nita) Batterson. He married Dorothy Hood July 22, 1960 at Christ Church here in Rochester. He served in the Navy from 1956 to 1960. He was employed by Eastman Kodak Co. and the Brockport Schools.
He is predeceased by his two sons Ian and Scott and nephew James Brown.

He is survived by:
his wife Dorothy Hood Batterson
daughter: Sandra (Michael) Harter
grandchildren, Jason (Lisa) Harter, Shawn Harter, Susia, Ian & Caleb Batterson;
Niece, Nita Stewart and many dear friends
sister: Marlene (Theodore) Brown

I read the info Sandra Harter listed and for the most part it is correct. The name Marcella Ailene Campain is incorrect, it is properly spelled Marcella Aileen Campain, at least that is how it is spelled on my birth certificate.

I have also been researching my family tree.
There was a book published in 1966 by Vera Stewart-Novak entitled: J.P. "Dick" which contained family histories related to The Batterson/Sample families.

I have been searching a long time for a copy of that book to fill in the blanks I have on my Ancesteral Tree, and to maybe have another, updated book published within the next year or so.

I went to the Batterson site that was listed, but it seems that there are a lot of broken links ( maybe it has been abandoned? ).

I would sure like to get my family tree finished, so if there is other info out there, please contact me at:

Designer of rugs, quilts; longtime Chatham resident

CHATHAM - Natalie O. (Batterson) Pierson Patch, 87, who was especially known for her designing and hooking of rugs and quilts, died last Friday at the Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford, Maine.
She was the wife of the late Arthur F. Pierson.
Born and educated in New York, she attended the National Park Seminary in Washington, D.C., and lived in New Rochelle, N.Y., before moving to Chatham in 1958. She was known for her tole work painting on trays and especially known for her designing and hooking of rugs and quilts. She had won first prize for one of her quilts at the Massachusetts State Fair.
While in New Rochelle, N.Y., she was a member of the Garden Club, where she served as president, and the Women's Club, where she also served as president. She was also a member of the Junior League and member of St. John's Wilmot Episcopal Church, where she was a choir member and a Sunday school teacher.
Mrs. Patch was a member of St. Christopher's Church in Chatham. She was an avid bridge player and active with the Chatham Historical Society, the Eldredge Public Library and with a group of individual rug hookers.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Pierson Corkery of Portsmouth, R.I., and Bonnie Pierson Rouillard of Kennebunk, Maine; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Christopher's Church, Main Street, Chatham. Burial is in People's Cemetery, Chatham.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Christopher's Church, P.O. Box 711, Chatham, MA 02633; or to the Eldredge Public Library, 549 Main St., Chatham, MA 02633.

George G. Batterson, Died at the age of 95 at the Royal Care Nursing Home in Erin, Tenn. of natural causes. George was born in Rochester, NY the son of George and Minnie Cadman Batterson predeceased by his wife Jane Reynolds. He was retired owner of Batterson Moving and Storage Co. of Rochester, NY founder of the antique Wireless Association Museum in East bloomfield, NY. Member of Rochester Amateur Radio Asso., and past President of American Movers and Warehouse Assoc. He is survived by 2 sons; Mr. Donald Batterson of Erin, TN and Mr. Robert Batterson of Ft. Worth, TX, 1 daughter; Mrs Carol J. Glaug of Dayton, OH 14 granchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services were held at 2:00pm Monday 9/27/93 at White Haven Memorial Park, Rochester, NY. Scott Keith Batterson, 34 of Fincastle, passed away November 14, 1997. He was predeceased by his brother, Ian Harold Batterson

He is survived by his children, Susia Kyle and Keith Batterson; his parents Neal and Dorothy Batterson of Rochester, NY; his sister, Sandra (Michael) Harter of Daleville, VA; nephews Jason and Shawn Harter of Daleville VA; aunt Marlene (Theodore) Brown of Rochester, NY and several aunts uncles and cousins outside of the United States. He was a U.S. Navy vetern.

Scott was greatly depressed over not being able to see or speak with his children, so took his life in hopes of being with them and watching over them from a better place. We will greatly miss him and all who knew him and survived him Loved Him. May his soul now rest in peace.
