Re: Baucher from PA

Did any of this family come to Canada as Loyalists in the 1700's My Grand father Camille boucher or baucher fought in the civil war...apparently had an american wife but when she died, he wanted to return or come to Canada. I could never understand why a French man if spelled Boucher all the time would fight in an American war...if roots were from Pensylvania, it would make sense. His second wife was ann turner who is a decendent of loyalists who fought with Butler's rangers in the 1700's and came to Canada given land grants in Dover, kent county, ontario, canada and in the Niagra area of Canada.
Try looking under the surname BRaucher. The name is too familiar and there are too many Brauchers in Ohio for there not to be a connection.

Baucher/ Bachar, OH

Though my maiden name was spelled Bachar,
my researches have made me wonder if it
may not have been the original spelling.
The name suddenly appears in Ohio, but
there are many listings for Baucher that
could also be Bachars. Do you know anything
about where the family started out? I can
tract Bachar to 1843 for sure and possibly
1840, with a land grant issued to a John
Bachar. But a John Baucher, from Ohio fought
in the War of 1812. Hope to hear from you.

Hello Baucher family and friends,
I am interested in researching and building a Baucher family tree for my son Joseph Thomas Baucher III. Since his father pasted away I have been trying to build a tree for my son so he knows he is not alone or the last. Your input would be greatly appreciated.
I look forward to hearing form you out there.
Robin
