Surnames: Baucom, Bawcum, Balkum, Qualls
Many researchers identify Walter's mother as Sarah "Running Deer". I have not found any documentation to back up that statement.

The other Baucom family was Dennis and Martha that migrated from Georgia. I believe that the census documents Dennis's mother as Dolly. Once again I have no documentation that Dolly was native american.
