As many of you may know, I published a Baum family history book in 2007 called, "The Baum Family, From Alsace to Alsace & Beyond in 400 Years". Essentially, the book travels from my grandfather, George Eversole Baum, back to my 9th ggf, Enstett Baum, born about 1609 in Alsace. The immigrant ggf was Johann Theobald Baum, born in Birkenau,Germany in 1693. He came to Philadelphia about 1722 and settled in what would become Reading, PA. He died in 1762 and is buried there in the Alsace Cemetery.

I am seriously considering writing and publishing a new edition of the book. I have gathered a fair amount of new information since the book was published, plus I would like to gather new and updated information from any source that cares to participate.

As I researched the book book initially, I was able to uncover and correct many mistakes that had accumlated over the years. My main goal is to provide as accurate a story of the family as possible. My original intent was to provide the family history to all who wanted a copy of the book and I therefore only charged my cost for the book. I intend to do the same this time around as the books will ship directly from the publisher.

I will post the families that I'm working with on this site in subsequent posts. Also note that I gladly provide any information that I have on any of the families.
