Surnames: BAUMER, BENNING
Thanks to Jan Kollenhof I know now that the William Baumer (1840) and Elizabeth BENNING (1844) family emigrated from Legden, Ahaus county, Westfalen. They went to Illinois for a year or two, then to Stearns County, MN, and finally settling in the Richland County, N.D. and Wilkin Co., MN areas.
Now I would like information William's older brother, John (born Johann Hermann) Baumer, b 1825, who emigrated in 1856 and had the destination of Cincinnati, OH. There must be many relatives descending from him too. Can anyone help find this unknown part of the Baumer family tree? Thanks for any responses.
