HAROLD BAUMLE, 1927-2003
PAYNE - Harold E. Baumle, 76, of Payne, died at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, at Parkview memorial Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was born Jan. 15, 1927, in Payne, the son of Roman and Vivian (Hummell) BAUMLE. On Jan. 21, 1950, he married Theresa Linder, who survives. He was a WWII Army veteran, and was retired from Baumle's Sohio Service, which he operated with his brother, John. He was a member of the St. John the Baptist Church in Payne, the American Legion Post #297 in Payne, former member of the Knights of Columbus, a former member of the Wayne Trace school board, and a former member of the Payne Chamber of Commerce. Also surviving are five sons, Roman of Haviland, Steven of Middle Point, and Jerry, Victor, and Curt BAUMLE all of Payne; five daughters, Karen Bennett and Angela Bidlack, both of Payne, Joan Moser of Van Wert, Jean Porter of Lodi, Wis., and Jan Smith of Paulding; two brothers, Robert and John BAUMLE, both of Payne; 25 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services were held Saturday, Oct. 4, at the St. John the Baptist Church in Payne, with the Rev. William Martin officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery in Payne, where military rites were given by the American Legion Post #297. Slade Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Preferred memorials are to the Masses or Paulding Area Visiting Nurses.
