looking for info on Stanley Martin Bauza's parents

he was married to Irma Ganter. He was also in the US Army. Can't find any info on his parents; his children (my husband's mother and aunts) will not talk to us without being abusive so we can't talk to them. Irma has Alzheimer's and doesn't even remember her name, plus she lives with an aunt. He was born on Nov 12 1917 (unknown where) and died in 1980.

The children were Sylvia Ganter, and Stephanie, Christine, Heidi, and Rose Bauza.

Thank you for any assistance you may be able to provide.

I will contact another Bauza researcher Pam V whom has been studying the 'Boza's of Michigan, as well as a Paul B. a Bauza researcher. I will check your suggestions as well. My grandparents shared very little, so all tips and hints are valuable. I'm out of town through Sun the 12th.
-Bill

My mother was a Rokiski from Madison/Granite City area. Her mother was a Laskowski. One of Grandma brothers was George Laskowski. George was the third husband of Pearl - see the 1930 census for Edwardsville Rd, Madison, IL. Three Bauza children were living with him along with Joe Mantych the youngest child of Pearl's first marriage. I have a picture of George and Pearl with George's parents, Valentine Laskowski and Anna Barczewski (ska).

I recall seeing Bauza headstones in one of the cemeteries - possibly St Michael's in Radom or the one in DuBois. You might find records at the churches available thru Ancestry.com.

Online research in 2010 points to Marie Palmer, not Peterson. Still at a dead end with George (Georgii) Bauza, but Archive confirms that they lived in Buffalo in 1910 Census, he born abt 1863, naturalized 1870 Hispanic origin (Cuba), and Mariae Palmer of Ireland had a son George b 29 Nov 1889, daughter Sadie b abt 1884 (married Wm. Beilman) , and my grandfather William Nicholas, b 1882 who married Bessie Louise Luke b 20 Aug 1891 Chicago in Buffalo on 17 Dec 1908.

According to my info George a Bauza was born in Cuba 29 Nov.1889, married Marie Peterson b. 23 Jul 1867 in Germany.
son, William Nicolas Bauza b. 1882, Buffalo NY. d. 28 Dec 1959
daughter, Sadie Bauza. b. 1884 d. ?
son George Bauza b. 13 April 1879.
Rest you know. I can add only a few bits of info.Your name is William George Bauza, probably 62 years old, your brother is Robert Charles Bauza, younger.

Sadie married William Beilman b.19 Nov.1879 in Buff. NY
Sadie married William Beilman b. Nov. 19 1879, they lived at106 French St. together with George, who was handicapped
(left foot disabled). Sadie was a clerk. No info if George was married.
Unfortunately our 21 years research did not cover any Cuban connections, as we were concerned about Polish roots
mainly, I cannot give you any more info than you have already, sorry for disappointment. My Info on this site was focused on Bauza having roots back in Poland.
(bearing polish first names as I cited before).
Your genealogy does not fit this branch. Sorry.
As a hint, maybe you can search your roots back to Mallorca?
Yours, pbb

All of your family lived in Buffalo, NY.
Polish Bauzas were mainly farmers living in rural areas, also named by polish origin, like Posen, Gniezno etc.
Yours, Pawel

I do have list of all Bauza born in Poland, almost 300 names, b.dates, d. dates etc, just give me the name of your grandpa and day of his birth.List cover years 1731-1949.
Line Bauza starts in year 1731 in some branches, 1732 in others. So far I was not able establish any information
from dates before. If you do not know names of your relatives coming to USA in time beetwen 1850 and latter, look in census records (done every 10 years) and find
names related to your close family. There is four Bauza in records I have from years 1731, Simon Bauza, (my line), 1732
Luka Bauza, and 2 names of Lukasz Bauza from about same time. Please spread the message, as I do not have enough of time to notify everybody. I can tell you, that all the Bauza from Poland are related going back to XVI century.
There is only 392 Bauza in Poland living presently, that small number indicates that all of us have very few common ancestors. Name Bauza origin is Majorca. Look History of
Spain by Garcia - Carraffa, vol.15. Before reconquest of Majorca in 1229 name Bauza did not existed in Spain.
Juan Bauza was a captain of army in 1250.(Jaime I).
We can only speculate how Bauza get to Poland and Lithuania
but the same regions of Poland and Lithuania were on
lines of merchants buying and transporting AMBER from Estonia, Lithuania and Poland.
Maybe one of Majorca Spaniards found Polish young lady very attractive? Good luck in your research for your grand dads
and grand mams. The best way to send it to me is e-mail, it is easier for me to sort it out.
Most common names of our family is :Andreas (Andrzej)Michal
(Michael) Marjanna, Marcjanna, Waleria, Tomasz, Wojciech, Jan, Baltazar, Zofia, Mikolaj, Dominik, Stefan, Agnieszka,
Magdalena, Jerzy (George).
My e-mail :pbbauza@gmail.com

My address is: 834 Springbank Ave Woodstock, Ontario, Canada
code N4T 1T5. Please fill free to send me letter if you prefer.
Pawel Boleslaw Bauza.
It would not surprise me; families do change out of spite as a result of an argument. I've heard several instances in other surnames. Census-takers also might misspell a name or not hear the citizen correctly, or have poor penmanship. That's why many Genealogy programs have 'phonetic' spelling capabilities, called "SOUNDEX" to look for variants.
If you have a Genealogy program, look into that. If not, you could try Goggling the incorrect name and see who shows up. Be patience and creative.
Perhaps someone will respond!

Hello from Buffalo NY. I am William George Bauza, and have been trying to find my namesake....As a user of Family Tree Maker 2009 and Ancestry.com, I've been doing this search since 2000. From the Polk Directory for Buffalo NY 1882, p. 60 tells me of George Bauza, a laborer at 4 Fly Street...a stone's throw from the Erie Canal in downtown Buffalo. This George would be my great grandfather, as George (of Cuba) married Marie Peterson and had my grandfather William Nicholas, born in 1882. In 1884 George was a bartender at 11 Ohio Street. In 1910 George was a boarder at 368 Pearl St. I believe a daughter, Sadie was born somewhere along that time, and eventually married William Beilman. The last record of George was 1934 where he was a mail clerk for our newspaper. He lived with other Bauzas at 106 French Street as late as 1948. I find no death record of him, nor his marriage.

I did not knew that the village of Deia has graves with Bauza and Ripolls names on it. Can you connect me with your cousin, looks like he knows a lot about the family.

Maybe he can find names in the cementery if he lives there?

My great- grandfather came from the town of Soller and settled in Lares in the Buenos Aires town.

Please right me back to see if we can get this geneaology going.

thanks,
Rosa Bauza

I recently smoked a great Bauza cigar, hand rolled in the Dominican Republic....they are now made by the Fuentes Cigar Co. I thought a lot about my heritage, and especially my cigar-smoking grandfather William Nicholos Bauza.
I've seen the plastic bags of fresh grapes with the Bauza name indicating they were from Chile.
How do you connect?

Hello Mary! On this Thanksgiving Day, I am thankful for the technology and understanding that brings the world and relatives closer together.
My heritage is three-fourths Germanic: George Stieringer married Frida (sp?) Frey in Enzklosterle, Germany around 1910. These were my Mother's parents. They came to America on 7/15/13, through Hoboken NJ. I have visited with my Mom's cousin at the family home in Enzklosterle! April 1994 was a special time for my wife Margaret Neoma Haubil and I. We travelled with a cousin on my Dad's side-Jim Lehmann and his wife.
The only info on the Bauza side is what I have pieced together from a Census document...that's where I learned of the Cuban background of my great grandfather George A. Bauza who married Mary Peterson of Germany.
Any contacts and more info would be greatly and deeply appreciated. I'd love to
learn more.
Great to hear from you!
