Samuel Bave was naturalized a British citizen in 1628 by an act of parliament. His original name was Bauf, and he was from Cologne in Germany. Apparently, he became acquainted with the Edmonds family in Paris, where he studied medicine, and traveled to London as their son's tutor.

I am daughter of John Windas Bave, son of Walter Bave, who was for a while married to my grandmother, Jessie Labon Windas. Hello, "cousin"!
