I'm tring to confirm the parents of Abraham Baxter who married Sarah Cope on 13th May 1776 in Polesworth, Warwickshire, England (Abraham and Sarah are my 6th Great-Grandparents)
There are about 50 public familiy trees on Ancestry that have Abraham born in 1755 in Polesworth; parents - William Baxter and Mary (nee Blake), however I haven't found any of these trees with any other citation other than another tree.
I have found baptism records for 8 children of William and Mary Baxter in Polesworth;
Susannah Baxter, Baptised 27 May 1759;
John Baxter, Baptised 23 Jun 1761;
Mary Baxter, Baptised, 30 Oct 1763, Buried: 27 Oct 1765;
William Baxter, Baptised 25 Nov 1765;
Mary Baxter, Baptised 24 Jan 1768;
Jane Baxter, Baptised Jul 1770, Buried: 20 Jul 1772;
Sarah Baxter, Baptised 15 Oct 1776;
Richard Baxter, Baptised, 31 Jan 1779;
Therefore if Abraham is their son, why haven't they had him baptised when they have all there other children baptised?
There is another possibility. There is an Abraham Baxter, baptised in Netherseal, Leicestershire (now in Derbyshire) on 21 Dec 1752, Parents Abraham and Mary Baxter. Netherseal is about 10 miles north of Polesworth, so he could have easily moved to Polesworth.
So on one-hand, there is the evidence of about 50 trees, but a mistake could have been copied multiple times, and on the other hand there is a possibility of someone moving parishes which isn't easy to prove.
Anyone else looking at the Baxter's in Poleswoth (1750-1850) come across this? Or does anyone have any evidence that Abraham was born in 1755 to William and Mary?
