I am not related to this person, his obituary appeared in the "100 Years Ago Today" column in the North Vernon (IN) Plain Dealer on 8/27/2012 for Aug. 22, 1912. I thought it might be of help to someone.

Walter Bay, 49, died at his home at Indianapolis Monday and the remains were brought to this city for burial Wednesday. He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Joe Harring­ton. The deceased was a resident of this city until about two years ago when he moved his family to Indianapolis.
