Ellen Marie Nichols Baybrook
Ellen Marie Nichols Baybrook, age 85, of St. Cloud, Fla., and North East, died on Saturday April 25, 2009. She was born on September 19, 1923 in Moorheadville, Pa., to the late Emmet Nichols and Agnes Moorhead Nichols Elletson. Ellen Marie was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church of North East, where she taught Sunday School for 33 years, and was an advisor for Westminster fellowship, Associate member of the St. Cloud Presbyterian Church, Member of the Daughters of the Nile Selket Temple # 140, and O.E.S. Chapter #153. She was well known cake decorator and seamstress in the North East community, which she operated from her home. Preceded in death is a sister, Mary Turner; brothers James Nichols and Harvey Nichols; step-father Alfred F. Elletson; step-brothers Herbert Elletson and Richard Elletson; and several nieces and nephews. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Raymond J. Baybrook, whom she married October 29, 1943; a daughter Sally L. Wakeley of St. Cloud, Fla; sons Raymond E. Baybrook and wife Tanja of Manassas, Va., George E. Baybrook and wife Rose of Moorheadville, and a brother Robert Nichols of Leesburg, Fla; seven granddaughters; one foster granddaughter; six great-grandsons; one foster great-grandson; five great-granddaughters; and three great-great-granddaughters. Friends are invited to call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake St., North East, on Monday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and are invited to attend a funeral service on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 25 W. Main St., North East. Officiating Rev. Dr. Gregg Townsend. Interment Erie County Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Shriners for Children, 1645 West Main St., North East, PA 16428. Order of Eastern Star Chapter #153 will conduct services on Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. followed by a service conducted by the Daughters of the Nile, Selket Temple # 140.
