Hi. I have quite a bit on Norfolk Bayfields - my mother was a Bayfield. I can go back to Holme Hale - Francis Bayfield - born c.1780 and his descendants - mainly butchers and bakers around west / north-west Norfolk. I wonder if we have the same Bayfield data?
Patrick.

Hi. I got confused at one point between Norwich Bayfields and those around Holme Hale and Swaffham. There probably is a connection, but it would be in the C18th or earlier I think. I guess they all go back to the village of Bayfield (now deserted), around Bayfield Hall and the nearby church in North Norfolk - it's on the web (marriage venue etc.)
Patrick

Hi. My mother was a Bayfield so I have quite a lot on them. A Benjamin Bayfield was born c.1805 in Holme Hale, son of Francis Bayfield and, I think, a first un-named wife. Benjamin took a butcher's shop in Swaffham and stayed in the trade and in the town until his death in 1863. Two sons went into the trade as well, one in Swaffham and another in Wisbech. Several branches of the Bayfields were butchers including my grandfather and an uncle.
Patrick.

Hi. I have a little info on Rumps, who married into the Bayfields in the mid-C19th. However, there were a great many Rumps in Norfolk and it was not one of my main lines of research. Let me know who / what you are looking for and I'll see what I've got that might match.
Patrick.

Hi. My mother was a Bayfield and I have quite a lot on them including photographs from the late C19th and early C20th. George Buston's 2 wives, both Maria Smiths, were cousins. My mother got a 16th of his estate when a closer relative died without issue in the 1960's. Let me know what line you are following.
Patrick.

I have no knowledge of Bayfields in Auckland NZ and my scope in Norfolk is so far quite small.

George Buston Bayfield was born around 1806 and was from Beetley in Norfolk. Both of his wives were named Maria Smith and although not yet proven I believe the two Maria's to be related.

My grandmothers maiden name was Bayfield and I can trace back to my GGGgrandfather Thomas Bayfield who married Elizabeth Freeman probably at St Martin at Oak in Norwich in 1803. The successive generations also lived in Cley for spell but mainly in Norwidc but some moved to London. There maybe also an Auckland NZ connection. Have we common ground??

I'm looking up Miles surname for a friend of mine. Benjamin Bayfield Miles b. c.1828 was illegitimate. I strongly suspect a Bayfield was the father. Interestingly the name Bayfield extends into the next couple of generations of male Miles's.

I cannot find anything on any transcriptions.

Do you have any ideas?

George B Bayfield born C1807 and wife Maria Smith, daughter Amelia Charlotte, son George Smith Bayfield, and a brother to George B Bayfield named Robert born C1816. They are connected to my main name of interest which is Rump. Do you have any further info on these people or the Rumps and Smiths connected to them.
Maria Rump

Please email me if you are related to William Bayfield, of Harrisburg, TX in 1880 - and by April, 1898 a resident of "Santa Rosa Infirmary", San Antonio (Bexar Co.) TX. I have a wonderful snapshot photo of him taken in April, 1898, when he looks to be about age 70, on crutches, on the grounds of the "Infirmary". The 1880 census Harris Co., TX shows he had a daughter, age 13, named Mollie.

I would like to get this photo back in the hands of family.
