I have had a merry chase sorting out Samuel alias John.
I purchased the birth certs for John and Annie and both have Samuel as the fathers name. They are the only ones born in London and Annie has her birth place as London in all the census. A cousin has a medal awarded to Samuel Baylis from Bromsgrove School so I always thought there was a Samuel with a brother John.
I am descended from Annie b1853. She married Stephen Wall 17/7/1875 in St James the Great Bethnal Green with John and Lydia as witnesses. I have tried to find Lydia and John with no luck but now I know they migrated. Stephen and Annie migrated to Adelaide in 1908 with their son Edward and my grandmother came in 1912 and her 2 sisters at other times. Thery may have been influenced to come here by John and Lydia. Annie died 17/7/1939.
The family still live in Adelaide.
