Thomas Edgar Bayne Jr. was the devil. If there were anyone more evil than this man I'd be shocked. He was the most evil man who has ever lived and a plane crash killed him much too quickly. He was an evil man who physically and emotionally abused his step-children and his wife. A plane crash was way quick to die. He should have died a slow, painful death. The only comfort I have as a victim of his abuse, is that he is burning in the lowest pits of hell for the pain he has caused me and my family. Tom, tell Satan I said hello. I hope you are enjoying the fire I know you are burning in.

Re: BAYNE Family Photos

Hello. I would love to have the photos if no one else claims them.
My great grandfather was Walter D. Bayne(1812-1890) who
was born in Virgina, but left as a young child going to Kentucky prior to 1820. His father died young, but his grandparents stayed and lived their lives on the family farm. Prior to that, the family had been in Maryland.
My great grandfather's sister was Fannie-nickname for Francis. My grandmother was Lottie, a varation on the name of Charlotte. How closely related those people were to mine, I honestly cannot provie, but I am sure enough to ask about the photos and feel they had to be at least extended kin.
I am supposedly a descendant of Donald Bayne, the last Scottish king. The men are usually big men, many times blonde and many times blue eyed.
Respectfully submitted
Linda T. Acrey-275 A.Smith Rd., Ward,Ar. 72176
grandchild of Lottie Bayne Temple(1895-1977)
great grandchild of Dee Bayne(1861-1930)
great great grandchild of Walter D. Bayne(1812-1890), native of Virginia

BAYNE Family Photos

While visiting a Callao, Virginia, antique shop, I got the following old BAYNE family photos that I would very much like to get back into the hands of family:

Charlotte BAYNE - Photo taken by "Hargrave & Gubelman, 38 & 40 @. 23d Street, New York."

Virgie BAYNE (Mama's Cousin) - Photo taken by "Hargrave & Gubelman, 38 & 40 W. 23d Street, New York."

Susan Pope BAYNE - Photo taken by "Johnson Bros., 467 & 469 Penna. Ave., Washington, DC."

Eloise BAYNE - Photo taken by "Imperial Art Studio, 20 W. Baltimore St., Baltimore."

Aunt Fannie BAYNE - Photo taken by "R. Holylund, 231 W. Balt. St., Balt., Md."

All five of the above photos were in same box of old photos together with many other photos with no identification of surnames. I would estimate the photos were taken in the 1890s or 1900s.

If these are in family you are researching, please contact me. I will be happy to return them to family on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Pfc. Robert B. Bayne, of Dundalk, Md., WW II Missing In Action
IMMEDIATE RELEASE	No. 381-11
May 04, 2011
Soldier Missing in Action from WWII Identified

The Department of Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office (DPMO) announced today that the remains of a serviceman, missing in action from World War II, have been identified and are being returned to his family for burial with full military honors.

Pfc. Robert B. Bayne, of Dundalk, Md., will be buried on May 7 in his hometown. On March 28, 1945, while patrolling the Rhine River in an inflatable raft, Bayne, a lieutenant and two other enlisted men were attacked near Schwegenheim, Germany. Bayne and the officer were wounded, forcing all four men into the swift waters of the river. The lieutenant was rescued but the enlisted men were not found.

Between 1945 and 1946, Army Graves Registration personnel exhumed remains of three men from two different locations when German citizens reported the graves contained remains of American soldiers recovered from the river in March 1945. Among items found with the remains were military identification tags. Two of the men were identified as enlisted men from the raft -- Pvt. Edward Kulback and Pfc. William Gaffney -- but due to limited forensic science of the time, the remains of the other individual could not be identified and were interred at the U.S. Military Cemetery in St. Avold, France as "unknown."

In 1948, the remains of the unknown soldier were exhumed to compare them to available records for Bayne. After several years of analysis the remains could not be identified and were reinterred as unknown at the Rhone American Cemetery and Memorial in Draguignan, France, in 1951.

More than 60 years later, analysts from DPMO and the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command (JPAC) developed case leads, evaluated records and determined that modern forensic technology could offer methods to identify the remains. In 2010, the remains were exhumed once again for analysis.

Among other forensic identification tools and circumstantial evidence, scientists from JPAC used dental comparisons and the Armed Forces DNA Identification Laboratory used mitochondrial DNA -- which matched that of Bayne's brothers -- in the identification of his remains.

At the end of the war, the U.S. government was unable to recover and identify approximately 79,000 Americans. Today, more than 74,000 are unaccounted-for from the conflict.

For additional information on the Defense Department's mission to account for missing Americans, visit the DPMO website at http://www.dtic.mil/dpmo or call 703-699-1169.

U.S. Department of Defense
Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Public Affairs)

http://www.defense.gov/releases/release.aspx?releaseid=14474

******************
Posted for genealogical information only.

Hello.I truly think you are related to me, another long lost cousin.
Are you related to Michael Bayne and that bunch in Nebraska?
It was a Scottish clan and part came at one time and part at another. According to what I have been told, I descend from that bunch that was in Maryland.
I know it is sort of a wild story, but it actually all fits together.
Walter D. Bayne was born in Virgina in Nov. of 1812. I descend from him, my gg grandfather, and I did not visit, but drove by the cemetery in Lonoke, Ar. yesterday where he is buried along with most of his children.
Write me and we can spin history tales together.
Linda T.
Bayne comming to KY from Scotland after 1750

Hi all, in my research my Bayne branch seems to connect to Walter Bayne who landed in Maryland early 1600's from England. However family stories from 2 generations back tell of (known to them) cousins in Scotland and Ireland. My Dad always said we were Scots-Irish. Does anyone out there have Bayne's comming to America from Scotland or Ireland after 1750 but before 1800? My Bayne family was in Kentucky from 1801 (Walter born 1801 Kentucky, his son John L. born 1835 KY and forward),and other family tree's have this Walter linked back to Walter Bayne the brother of Ralph who came on the Ark and Dove to Maryland in the early 1600's. I must put strong stock in our family stories, (although some of them were quite embellished). If I do then the family came to America much later. I have followed the Dickinson family (Ivah m my GGrandfather George W Bayne)and
the Davis family (Matilda L m my GGGF John L)and have found no arivals to the country later than the 1600's. Are there any other family members out there that can help me equate the stories to the facts? Any and all comments and replys are appreciated.
Thanks Chris Bayne

Go to your nearest Latter Day Saints(Mormons) Library. They are scattered all over the U.S. There are volunteers there to assist you.
You really need to read some census for 1920, 1930 and even 1940 which I believe is now available.
It is my opinion that until you do some basic work, you will not be able to go forward with this project. Wanting to know and researching are two different things.
Good luck.

I am searching for any family members that may be connected to Mae T. Bayne or her son Robert H. Bayne. Robert was my mother's first husband and died in WWII not long after they were married. Robert H. Bayne was born 7 Dec, 1924 in South Carolina and died 7 April, 1945. All that I have on his mother (Mae T. Bayne) is she was born: 1905 and died: 1989. Any help would be appreciated. I do remember my mother telling me that Robert had 2 or 3 brothers. Both Robert and his mother are buried in South Carolina.
Thanks: Penny copper_6@yahoo.com

Re: Bayne/ McBain in FL/SC

The Bayne family was originally from Scotland.
I have been told that I am a descendant of Donald Bayne/ Bain who was the last Scotish king of Scotland.
My grouping was in Virginia prior to the family heading west into Kentucky and other points in the U.S.
My set-descended from Walter D. Bayne- made its way to Arkansas and has all but disappeared in this state. Prior to that, they had been in Maryland.
There is a story of the Bayne family being evicted from their castle on the banks of the Loch Ness in Scotland.
It seems that they had not paid their taxes to the English who kicked them out and sent them to Ireland from which they got passage to what is now the U. S. on what was called a coffin ship because so many died. Once they reached the U. S., they became pirates and robbed the ships of the English.
My grandmother always said they had once been pirates. Knowing my own kin, I can believe they descended from people who would fight back.
There is a Bayne/Bain/ Bean sight ran by a Wm Bean. Try doing a search for that and see if you can find it. If not get back in touch and I will see if I can.
If the family themselves were big people in size, mentally sharp and had very strong wills, you just may relate.
Good luck.
(P.S. I am only five ft 2 inches, so the size did not stay true with time but my own great grandfather, Dee Bayne, was a giant of a man for the times.)

In regard to all the earlier posted material relating to the Bayne family: I have been told that I descend from those in Maryland. I have been told that I am a descendent of Donald Bayne who was the last original king of Scotland. I have been told that since my gg grandfather was Walter D. Bayne who was born in Virginia in Nov. of 1812, that he was the son of Walter Finley Bayne who was born in Virginia and later died young in Kentucky and that his dad was named Wm Bayne who never left Virginia but stayed with his wife there on the homeplace and they both died of old age.
My Walter D. Bayne married his wife Emily Buck Bayne in Shelby County, Tenn. in Sept of 1843. I would like to know about Walter's earlier family-did it exist and more information about the Bayne family that was in Shelby Co.-Memphis, Tenn. area prior to the Civil War.
I am out here and would love to hear from someone, especially Mary who has researched the Bayne family of Shelby Co. quite throughly already.
Linda T.
Hi,
My name is Charlene Bayne Lerner. I am the daughter of the late Charles Albert Bayne, son of John W. Bayne. John Henry and Ellen were my greatgrandparents also. I am also searching for the ancestors of John Henry. I received some information from Scott Bayne (from JH's first marriage). Also info from my father's cousin Jane Simpson.
Someone years ago had a history done at the Enquirer Gazette in Upper Marlboro. I believe the information is located in Baltimore at the library now, and probably through the Maryland geno sites.
Are you a descendant of Walter Bayne? I can remember visiting at Walter and Elizabeth's house in Forestville with my father.
Would love to get a copy of that picture. I have never seen pictures of any of the family (of course, I was around Edith, Annie and Ethel). My grandparents were divorced when my Aunt Mildred was little, so much of the information I had was from my father and Jane Simpson).
I am also on Ancestry.com (Bayne, Thompson, Burdette, Seauberlich tree)

Hello Joan

I am the 2nd great grand niece of William Angus Bayne, making his wife my great great aunt. His nephew, David Low Bayne was the son of his brother John Patrick Bayne and Margaret Low. My line comes down from David, through to his son George, to george's daughter Jean, who is my mother. It great to finally be in touch with someone who is related to the west side, as I have just started to research that line. I was trying to trace William's death as it appears he didn't go to Canada with his family but I have them all in Dundee Angus in 1891. Its all so confusing. If you want to contact me personally my email is liz_grieve@talk21.com. Thank you for getting in touch.

warmest regards

Elizabeth

Hi
I am researching my West family from Fife. Mary Ann West who was married to William Angus Bayne is the daughter of Andrew West and Ann Crombie. Her brother John West is my g-grandfather. John came to Montreal after he married Margaret Robertson. Their first child Andrew John Bell West was born in 1869 in Montreal.

I would be pleased to correspond further.

Regards
Joan Chapman

I have been chasing this family for years. I know that
my closest direct anscestor was Walter D. Bayne whose father was Walter F. Bayne. My Walter D was born in Virginia in Nov. of 1812, possibly Nov. 11. He was taken to
Kentucky when he was no more than a toddler.
His grandfather was named William and they stayed in Virgina and never let the home place.
If you can find Bill Bean, he may be more helpful.
He is a genealogist, but I am the kinfolks.
The Bayne clan made its way on down to Shelby Co. Tenn. which is Memphis.
I am still waiting for a lady named Mary somewhere in eastern Tenn to write me back about the Bayne family as she supposedly has researched it all.
Feel free to write me at MissLata@sbcglobal.net
I am in central Arkansas live within a mile of where
Walter D. and his wife Emily are buried.
I have been told that Walter may have had more than one wife.
I would venture that it would have been Walter F. who died in his 20's that had some sort of claim on the house.
Thanks a million for writing.
Linda T. Acrey
Lonoke, Arkansas.

My husband's grandmother, Phoebe R. Riner, purchased the Bayne House (37 East Main) in Shelbyville, KY, around 1968.
The house was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. Can you tell us about the Bayne House and when it was built? Thank you and may God bless you.
