Edward E. Baynes, 86, of Ontario passed away July 1, 2006 at Community Convalescent Hospital of Montclair. He was born December 21, 1919 in Burna, KY and was an Ontario resident for 61 years. Edward was a retired body shop foreman with College Chevrolet, Claremont and was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, WWII. He grew up in El Paso, TX and moved to Southern California in 1945. He was formerly president of the AMRCA (American Model Race Car Assn.) and a member of the Pomona Valley Model "A" Club. Edward is survived by one daughter, Susan (Craig) Brinegar, Danville, IN; one son, Ed (Debra) Baynes, Las Cruces, NM; one brother, Hugh L. Baynes, Mobile, AL; close friends, Pat Umberson and family, Victorville; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2006 at Stone Funeral HOme. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial with honors will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Covina. Stone Funeral Home, Upland in charge of arrangements.
