I'm looking for information on Mary Bazar and the man she married, Michael Alixie/Alexie/Alexis.
Although records indicate that Mary's daughter, Anna, was born in Pennsylvania, family legend states that Mary was widowed and immigrated with two-year old Anna; Mary married Michael (also potentially known as Nicholas) who was also a widow with a son, William.
Michael Alexie immigrated, possibly with his wife Nancy (maiden name Capp). Nancy died during or shortly after childbirth.
Michael Alexie and Mary Bazar married and had additional children. I can't find a marriage certificate or immigration information on any of them.
Census records began with the last name spelled as "Alixie" in 1910 and then changed spelling to "Alexie" in 1920; several of their children began recording their last name as "Alexis" by the 1930's. Census records state that Mary and Michael were born in Austria; however, they considered themselves Ruthenian Carpathian/Russian. There is an indication, that hasn't been verified yet, that Galicia was the place of birth for Nancy and Michael.
