Parents of Peter Bazel

Can anyone tell me the names of Peter Bazel's parents? He was born 1803 in Virginia and Married Ann Frazier. They had about nine children and later moved to Iowa where Peter died in 1875.
I think his mother's first name was Elizabeth, but that is all I can find.

I am interested in this, too. My uncle John Bazel told me we had an Indian in our ancesters. But, John died before he could tell me more about her. A lot of my Bazel reletives are burried in Iowa.

Somewhere, somehow I believe we may be related. It is my understanding that Felson Basil is a great, great grandfather of mine. I am new to this so I don't have a lot of information to give out but Charles Basil was my great grandfather and Daniel Basil was my grandfather. Hello, I am trying to help my Co-Pastor, Deborah Diamond Driskill trace her Bazzell/Bazel family originating from Bazeltown in Harriman, TN.
Some of the family members mentioned were: Alma Bazel Androzzo (Who wrote the song "If I Can Help Somebody", her parents Frances T. Smith and Fred Bazel.; a Aunt who went by "Aunt Dude", I believe 3 Aunt Mary's who went by "Mary and there Last initial", Aunt Rene (possibly Irene) and her sister Helen Bazel Diamond to name a few.

I realize it has been a very long time since the posts I just read re: Felson Bazzle; however, he is my GGGGG grandfather. Felson;Samuel;Charles;Alfred;Mary Louise;Samantha;Margie;me.

I have a copy of what was written in the "Cherokee By Blood" book...records of Eastern Cherokee Ancestory in the US Court of Claims, 1906-1910 by George Hays, where he says he knew Daniel Bazzle & his mother, Lizzie Scott. I have very little other than that. ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

There were two families in Roane Co. TN with similar names - the Brazeales and the Bazels. I haven't found any connection between the two families.

John Bazel was also my gg-grandfather. I have a lot of info about him if you care to contact me.

Peter & Ann Bazel, Margaret Frazier

Peter Bazel married Ann Frazier, daughter of Margaret Frazier in the early 1800's in Staunton, Augusta, Va. By 1847, Peter and Ann had children and lived in Clark Co, Ohio, next to Margaret Frazier and family. By the early 1850's, Peter and Ann Bazel had moved to Des Moines, Iowa, where both died. Some of their children's names were: James, Samuel, Margaret, Elizabeth, William and Mary.

Margaret Frazier, along with Hannah, William, Sarah and Elenora lived close by in Indianola, Iowa.

I am seeking information on Martha Bazel Praytor . Where did she come from? who were her parents? If you have any information I would like to hear from you.

Martha (Praytor) Cooke buried her mother, Martha (BAZEL) Praytor in 1855. Martha (Praytor) Cooke died 10 Oct 1861 and was buried there as was Elias Greene Cooke. He died 17 Dec 1862. In 1976, their headstones were moved to Cook's Springs Baptist Church Cemetery which is located behind the church.

I live in Metcalfe Co. which isnt far. direct descendant of Felson too. I heard that they have a big reunion down in Bazeltown, Tn. But I dont know when.

I have never been to Bazel town. My grandparents were Floyd Pedigo and Ruth Inez Basil Pedigo. I have not been able to go back any further than Felson. Records just seem to be lost before him. I have searched the web for any info on the reunion but still can not find any. Heather

Could someone tell me if Bazel and Brazel are the same? The reason I ask is because my gggrandfather was listed Bazel in the census until 1900 and then the ' r ' was added.. his descendants now goes by Bazel. This family was in Roane Co., Tn.

I was just wondering if you knew if there was a relationship between Felson Bazel and Jonathan Bazel who married Nancy Mills on Aug 19, 1796 in Blount Co., TN ... there is also a Bird Bazel who married a Levi Spurling in Jun 1827 in Hardeman Co., TN ... I feel as if there must be a connection ... just don't know where it is ... thnx

I am wondering if there are other spellings of this name. I have a Caroline Biggs who was referred to in one document as Caroline Bazel. She married Thomas E. Hobbs and then Able Harrell. She was born abt. 1835 in Missouri, married Able in 1853 in Calhoun Co. IL. and her mother's name might have been Martha. I don't know if she fits into this Bazel forum or not.

Hi. My name is Scott Chapman. I too am the gggrandson of Felson Bazel, Samuel Bazel and John Bazel. I live in Memphis TN. Currently, my son Shane and my wife Jocelyn are in the home of Ms. Alice Bazel Hanks right in Bazeltown! She is also a cousin and said that she knew you. The families here are very niceWe are trying to see if we can get tickets to the reunion in Florida. We are researching the Bazel family history, and would love to know more. Basil who was the son of Samual Basil. I would love to get any information and copies of anything that you may have. I have been looking form information for a little while now. Felson Bazel

Felson Base was my gggg grandfather on my mother's side of the family. Felson was one of only 2 free black men in Roane County Tn. on record during the civil war era. Felson married a white woman named catherine.lord knows how he managed that.

I may be able to help you with your Bazel line. With the help of an elderly relative, i was able to conyinue my research for my heritage. As i began the list of names went on and on and well, you know. Felson Bazel was my 5th grandfatherand as i recall, the loose papers the is at thr Roane County Library states that he was a free person of color. Tracing his heritage has been extensive and i have had little luck. However, he was from the Cherokee, North Carolina area before it became TN. His wife, Catherine "Caty" Bazel, and a son, Samuel lived in the Roane County area. Samuel married Lizzie Scott. She was a full-blood Cherokee Indian that was from the NC reservation. They moved east of the Mississippi River near Paint Rock Ferry in Chattanooga. Felson Died in 1820, Catherine still lived in Roane Co.I believe she died around 1860. There were other Bazels living in that area aswell and were suspected to be a part of his family since the laws were strict back then, the Bazel name was an unfamiliar name. I have tons of info on our family. I will be more than happy to send you whever i have. It will take me a minute to compile all the info for you. Send me an e-mail with a return address.

I may have what your are looking for. I had started the geneology on the family after i was introduced to Renita Davis, a niece of Mildred Latham. I started about two years ago researching OUR heritage. I too, am a product of Felson Bazel. He is my 4th grand-father. I have done extensive research on this person and discovered many things. I have a break down of the family members in his household. I also have documents that you can have a copy for your own records of several cases in Roane County. One of he and his son Samuel, an estate will doc., a coffin receipt of his wife burial, plus many others that is very informative.

Hello, My name is Ruthie Boea. My gggggreat grandfather was Felson Bazel from NC. He married a woman named Catherine and they had a son named Samuel.They then moved to TN. I know that the Bazel name is not very common and is very hard to trace. He was of African American Heritage. Does any of this information ring a bell?
