you know what, that might be mary ann elizabeth vickers beal. lizzie is short of elizabeth and the v. is for vickers and she married my phillip beal/beel. at the time he was listed as beel and then his son is listed later as being beal. however i have her listed as being born in 1835. however, i have three female chidren listed for them with no names or dates. just their two sons, james and eugene, their sisters would/could have been born around that date.

The one I found for you http://search.ancestry.com/Browse/view.aspx?dbid=7667&pa...= is in Fayette IL. If you can keep digging back on this one we may be able to connect.
Nora

I am quite sure this is your Philip and Elizabeth, children: James, ...and Mariah. Often we find children with different names and Jas is the abbreviation for James. He was born at the right time period and it is in IL. Sometimes people were enumerated at a relatives house as well, if it is not the county you expect them in. Also, in the Ancestry index they show the wife's age as 65, but when you look closely you can see it was 26, then a 5 added, which makes total sense. You should be able to go from this and find the next census records. Good luck! Let me know what you find. Nora

My Name is Monica Denise Beal-Williams-Mowdy. My father was James Nathan Beal from the Tulsa area. I lost touch with him when I was less than a year old. I am sure I can't be of much help but if this is the James you are looking for and you find anything about about his family I would love to know. I found an obit for a James Nathan Beal that passed away in 2008 but the age was about right. My mother passed away 12 years ago and both her mother and father are also gone. I have no access to additional information. Thanks, Monica

Noticed your Biel family came from Uder which is only 2.5 miles from Heiligenstadt which I believe is where my 2nd great grandfather came from. Werner Biel, his wife Theresia (Rust) Biel, along with Daughter Anna and son Andreas immigrated from then Prussia and left Bremen aboard the bark Hermine in 1852. Arrived at New York and settled in Belle Plaine, Iowa about 1854. They had 13 children.Name like many was changed to Beal at some point. Could there be a connection? I am working on her Beall lineage and have discovered that her line begans with a Hank Beal that was born in ALabama but his parents were born in Georgia and returned to Georgia to have a family. Hank Beal was born abt 1887. Can this person connect to your Beals?

Hi Phil, I do hope we may have a connection.
Mark Dolding was my great great grandfather. He was born 5 Dec 1824 in Woking, Surrey, England. He was a builder/contractor in London building tenement housing. He married Ann Brown (or Ann Holdforth) about 1850 and had a family of 13 children. Jesse, my great grandfather was the youngest but he spoke very little of the rest of his family. Marks death 26 Sept 1889 Greenwich, Greater London, Kent, London

Beal - 3 Marriages in York, ME

I spent some time in the Old York Historical Society Library yesterday. It is possible there is a 'Beal' in my ancestry.

Looking through the book, The Vital Records of York, Maine, I found three 'Beal' Marriages. The first was reviewed most closely - pgs 221 & 222

Mr. Benjamin Norman of New Vineyard, ME and Miss Hannah Beal of York, ME were married on 30 Jan 1825 by Alexander McIntire.

George Beal married Mary Moore in July 1830.

Jane Beal married Samuel Fitzgerald in July 1830.

I believe Hannah (Beal) Norman might have later married Henry Atkinson. If anyone has information about this, I am very interested.

One of the sections in the book is about young Ed Beal, of Alton, IL, who was a carpenter for the railroad, and who, prior to President Lincoln’s funeral train arriving in Springfield, was assigned carpentry work in preparation.

Hello Fellow Genealogists!

I am trying to make a collection of Old BEAL photos (with info, as well, to put the photos in "context") as a useful "reference" tool, for us all.

I am collecting/compiling and indexing, any Old BEAL photos (up thru 1960- but prefer earliest possible) in jpeg/gif format-sent as attachment w/email to me -including as much info known about person(s) IN the photo(s)--such as

name/dates birth/death/marriage; from whom they descend (if known); whom they married, or names of children; what they did for livlihood,etc.,etc.

I will complete this project w/in the next 2 1/2-3months-and anyone who submits an image to me---will receive a compiled photo booklet and access to the BEAL Family photo/info website, when it is completed.

Also jpeg/gif images of documents/text are welcome (as again, this adds "context" to the person in photo's life)--such as scanned b/m/d certificates;
military photos; typed pages of family history; sketches of family tree image; gravesite pix; scanned images of pension/military/citizenship/medical rec-ords; yearbook photos; news clippings;or scans of family bible pages,etc.,etc.
Anything that adds to what is known about the person whose photo you are submitting!

Please make the jpeg/gif no larger than about 7x9 inches, preferably around 5x7-ish--definitely No LARGER than 2MB (not quite 8 1/2 x 11 in. size!!)

I hope to make this a really helpful TOOL for all of us BEAL --(and any related lines you wish to submit--such as those we married-in "with" or of those of surnames that married "into" us!).

Thanks ever so much---Vienna George.....

Email me (w/ text info in body of same email to which is sent as attachment the jpeg (or gif) image) to.....

Vienna_Loves_Genealogy@yahoo.com

Many thanks Cousins!!!---Vienna

NOTE: This is foe ALL LINES (& Spellings-as spelling not "set" til 1900s) of this Surname--due fact we may THINK we are NOT related-but go back further and find we come down from either the SAME patriarch or siblings----or two un-related lines intermarry--and then, of course from there on down they ARE related--and also from all originations as many families started out in one country--only to later be in another-but may be the same family after all!!

Does anyone know when Nancy Sparks, wife of George Beal, was born?

John Sparks Jr.
Service record.
John Sparks was from the state of New Jersey, county of Salem held the rank of Ensign of the 2nd. New Jersey November 11, 1775; became a 2nd., Lieutenant May 10, 1776, then a 1st., Lieutenant on February 5, 1777; Captain January 1, 1778. Resigned August 31, 1778.
Pension roll.
John Sparks was from the state of New Jersey, county of Salem held the rank of Captain of the New Jersey Line, was placed on the roll July 28, 1818, with an allowance of $240., dollars per year, and had received $1945.80., dollars. Commencement of his pension was April 23, 1818, at the time this was recorded he was 69. In the remarks it states that he died on April 30, 1826.

[Editor's note: In the following documents, which were copied by the Editor from a microfilm copy of the originals, capitalization and punctuation have been modernized for the sake of clarity, but no changes have been made in spelling or content. Under this act pensions were granted only to the most needy veterans of the Revolution. John Sparks received $20.00 per month from 23 March 1818 until his death 30 April 1826. Little has been learned regarding John Sparks besides the data in his application. In 1927 Mrs. Sam Bretch of 1005 West 18th St., Oklahoma City, Okla., wrote to the Bureau of Pensions regarding this John Sparks and stated that from other information which she had it appeared that John Sparks had married twice and that he had a daughter named Nancy who married George Beal. Minnie Beal Miller of 611 No. Drake Ave., Fullerton, Calif., gave similar information in 1939. According to data compiled by Mrs. Leonard T. Harris, 72 West 14th Place, Chicago Heights, Ill., Nancy Sparks, daughter of John, was born about 1764 and died in Jan. 1854 in Guernsey County, Ohio, at the home of her son, Isaac Seal.
Beals of Mexico

Hello,

I'm trying to get some information on my wife's family tree. Her father's name is Jesus Enrique Beal, and his family is from around Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. Supposedly my wife's grandfather or great grandfather was a European immigrant to Mexico that sold jewelry, but that is just hearsay, but that's all we have to go on.

Any information or leads would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Beal connections in Madison Co., Alabama

My husband, JOhnny Wilson, is from Cass county, Texas and James Hilmer Beal, son of James Pinkney Beal and Delilah Sisco. James Hilmer is listed as "James G." in a lot of places, but I assure it is James Hilmer. He moved to Marion County, Texas. I have never found parents for James Pinkney Beal, always a dead end. Confused many time with James Peter Pyle as having the same birthday, married on the same day and Delilah Sisco also confused with delia Sanders. My 2-mail is dlw324@comcast.net and we live in Houma, La. Would like to hear from you.
