I have just found your email - I live in Ashburton and am descended from Thomas James Abel - Sarah Elizabeth Beale's Father. My Grandmother was her niece, Maud Alice Abel, born in London in 1891.

I would love some information about the descendants of the Beales in NZ? I have some details of Alfred, William, and their sister Susannah Matilda Beale who immigrated to NZ in 1875 on the Helen Dennie.
