I am looking for a Mildred Hicks (Maiden name possibly 'Watkins'...or could be Hicks)...Born in Maryland in 1924...Had family in Comanche, Texas...Records show she had a baby girl named "Barbara Ann Hicks" on May 14th, 1947 in Comanche, Texas whom Mildred gave up for adoption (private adoption) 4 and 1/2 months after her birth. Mildred was apparently part of the WAC (Women's Army Core) during WWII in Roanoke, Virginia (home base?)...She stayed with her grandparents in Texas when became pregnant, then she returned to the war and went back to Germany. Birth Certificate vs. Adoption records are not matching up. Barbara Ann Hicks' birthfather was said to be Walter James Hicks of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was supposedly a student engineer. It is possible not everything this Mildred gave was true, but the connection could be related to someone she was related to?
