I am looking for the parents and/or spouse of John M. Bean, born about Feb. 1841 in Tennessee, married to Narcissa Jane (last name unknown), about 1859. Narcissa Jane was born about July 1837 in Tennessee. On the 1870 and 1880 censuses they are listed in Montgomery County, NC. In 1900 they are listed in Jackson, Tennessee, along with an 8 year old grand-daughter, Maud A. Bean, born Sep. 1891 in NC as was her parents. By 1910 they are back in NC, Richmond County.

Their children are believed to be Sarah S. Bean, born Jan 1862, died Nov. 10, 1922, in Montgomery County, NC. She married Calvin Lilly Hicks, from whom I descend; Mary E. Bean, born abt. 1860, in NC; Martha A. Bean, born about 1864, in NC; John B. Bean, born about 1868, in NC; and W. T. Bean, born about 1871, in NC.

One census lists John's father as being born in NC but others list TN. His mother is listed as being born in TN consistently. There must be some connection to Jackson, Tennessee, since they were there in 1900.
