Looking for information on the family of Powhatan Beaty, an AfroAmerican who was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor in 1864 during the Civil War. He was a native of Virginia but came to Cincinnati prior to the War, and when he joined the Army, was appointed Sargeant. He had at least two sons - A. Lee Beaty, who became an Ohio legislator, and Powhatan Beaty, jr., who was a notary public in Cincinnati. His son, Powhatan Beaty, was born in 1904, and the family moved to Chicago. This Powhatan Beaty moved to Washington Georgia. I'm looking for information on the family of Powhatan Beaty Jr, who was born in 1880.

Thanks John Steiner - Medical Historian, Cincinnati
