Rene Beaudoin, SALISBURY
Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003
SALISBURY-Rene Beaudoin, 88, died yesterday at Concord Hospital after
a period of failing health. Hew as born in Laconia, the son of Adelard and
Celina (Gosselin) Beaudoin. He attended schools in Laconia. He lived in
Franklin before moving to SALISBURY 53 years ago; he moved to the Merrimack Countynty Nursing Home in 1997. Beaudoin owned and operated Speed's
Outdoor Vegetable and Fruit Stand at Busy Corner for many years; worked
as a meat cutter for the Ayotte Market and later the Franklin Locker Plant,
both in Franklin; and was self-employed as a storekeeper and owned and
operated the Beaudoin and Sons General Store in SALISBURY. He was a
member of the Salisubry Congregational Church. Survivors include three sons,
Edward Beaudoin of Contoocook, Walter Beaudoin of Belmont and John
Beaudoin of Okinawa, Japan; a brother, Lorenzo Beaudoin of Laconia; five
sisters, Theresa Goin of Wells, Maine, Irene Abramowicz of Portland, Maine,
Madeline French of Port Charlotee, Fla., Rachel Girard of West Boylston,
Mass., and Jacqueline Lavoie of Woonsocket, R.I.; four grandchildren; a
great-grandson; and nieces and nephews. His wife, Alice (Rand) Beaudoin,
died in December; and a sister, Cecile Susel, and a brother, Gerard Beaudoin,
died previously. Calling hours will not be held. Graveside services with his wife
will be held in the summer at Maplewood Cemetery in SALISBURY. Memorial
donations may be made to the VNA of Franklin, 75 Chestnut St., Franklin
03235; or the Resident Activity Fund, Merrimack County Nursing Home, 325
Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen 03303. William F. Smart Sr. Memorial
Home in Tilton is assisting with arrangements.
