PLATTSBURGH — Wilbert E. "Bert" Beaudreau, 87, formerly of 171 Oak Street, Plattsburgh, died Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at the Clinton County Nursing Home.

He was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, on Sept. 8, 1914.

Prior to coming to the United States, he held various jobs in the Montreal, Quebec area, and he also served in the Canadian Army.

Bert then moved to Plattsburgh were he retired as a custodian for the Plattsburgh School System.

He was an avid hockey fan and in his younger years enjoyed skating and tour biking in Canada.

Survivors include one stepdaughter, Mrs. Roger (Maureen) Guitard of Chateaugay, Quebec; two stepsons and their wives, Harry and Darlene Oliver and Stanley and Linda Oliver, both of Plattsburgh; four grandchildren, Joseph Guitard, Nancy Fisher, Paul Oliver and Lorie Oliver and one great-grandchild.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Nancy (Gahan) Beaudreau of Quebec, his second wife, Hazel (Oliver) Beaudreau, of Plattsburgh; and one brother of Florida.

Calling hours at the R. W. Walker Funeral Home will be on Saturday, May 11, 2002, from 2 to 3 p.m. The Reverend Wendle Lahr, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, will conduct the funeral services at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at a later date in Sheldon Hill Cemetery in Ellenburg Depot, N.Y.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Beaudreau Scholarship Fund of the Church of the Nazarene, Plattsburgh, N.Y.
