I have a Claude Beauford who is the son of Elliot Beauford who is the son of John Monroe Beauford son of Robert Daniel Beauford I do not have any information for Claude. I do have information about the others.According to my information Elliot had the nickname of "Cotton", and he had a son Harold W. who had the nickname of "Sonny". I don't have any information on him either.

I have quite a bit of information about descendants of Robert Daniel Beauford. I would appreciate any help you can give.

I'm Martin Beauford, son of Wesley Van "Hop" Beauford. I believe "Jack" was my father's brother. My grandfather was Martin VanBuren Beauford, son of Robert Daniel Beauford, who was from Virginia. Have not been able to trace to Virginia roots or location. If you have additional information I would be interested.

My name is Ronald Beauford. My father is from Duncan, Oklahoma. His father was Douglas "Jack" Beauford. They moved to Texas in the 1940's. I've traced this line back to Virginia. This is little information leading back to Virginia and even less where they came in from. The initial thought was England. However, France is also a good possibility.

I have quite a bit of information about Robert Daniel Beaufords descendants. Robert and his brother left Virginia headed for Texas. His descendants settled in Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico. I don't know if you are referring to Cotton as a surname or a nickname. In the information I have has Cotton as a nickname for Elliot Beauford son of John Monroe Beauford and Cinderella Coalson and was a grandson to Robert

I am a Beauford too and I live in New Mexico but my father is originally from Arizona and his father is from Georgia. As far as I know my father is the only one of the Beauford family that resides in New Mexico.

This is my married name. My husband's family is here in Texas, Oklahoma, and surrounding areas. I, unfortunately, do not have much information on his family tree just yet, as I'm just starting to get into his side of the family and I've got lots of other things keeping me busy, but I'll be happy to see what I can find along the way for his side. I've only got firsthand knowledge going back to his grandfathers, Morris Wayne Beauford, who is in Powderly, TX. I'll be happy to see what else I can find for you :)

My great-great grandfather was Ralph Beauford. I believe that George was his brother. Their parents were Willam Beauford and Francis Caroline Harris. They are also burried in Oakwood Cemetary in unmarked graves. I have found quite a bit of information on the Beauford family, but have hit a brick wall on the Harris family.

I too am interested in Beaufods of Mt. Vernon, Illinois. George R. Beauford Married Margaret Ellen Williamson in 1896, and they are buried in Oakwood cemetery, Mt, Vernon, Illinois.

Hi, My great grandfather was Billy Beauford who lived in a small town, Connerville, OK. As far as I know, his mother was Mary Elizabeth Watts and Billy had about 8 brothers. If this is any help, let me know and I may be able to get a little more info.

Hi Anne,

My name is Kathy and I was married to Guy E. Beauford in 1968. His nickname was "Sonny" and he was the son of Claude E. Beauford. Claude was married to Helen, but was later divorced and she married a man named Alve Gutzler. They were still married at the time of her death.

Claude has passed away and found his information on the Social Security Death Index page.

Sonny and I had one son, named Shawn E. Beauford, born April 4, 1969 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. At the time Sonny and I lived in Pompano Beach, Florida and Claude used to visit us occasionally.

If I can be of further help, please let me know. Shawn would love to have information about his father's side of the family other than the little I know.

Elizabeth, I remember a little bit about Sonny's (Guy Beauford) family. Cotton Beauford was his grandfather and I think he lived in New Mexico. Sonny's father was Claude E. Beauford and he was a cook on a ship of some sort for many years. I met him several times in the late 60s.

I also knew Helen Gutzler (Sonny's Mother).

Elizabeth, I think you found who you're looking for! My name is Kathy and I was married to Guy E. Beauford (Sonny) in Florida in 1968. My son is Shawn E. Beauford (he was adopted by my husband and his last name is now Fariello). Shawn will be 33 years old on April 4. He was born April 4, 1969. I don't know who Cinderella is, but do know Sonny had more children after Shawn's birth.

I am looking for a Sean (or spelled shaun or shawn not sure) and a Cinderella (Cindrella, Cindarilla- i am uncertain about the name) Beauford, Son and Daughter of Kathy (last name uncertain) and Guy Beauford. From my information, they might have been born in Florida or Illinois- their father was from Illinois, and their parents might have been married in Florida in the mid-late 60s, early 70s. Hi There-
I am looking for information about the beauford family, Specifically residing in new mexico, and where the name "cotton" comes from in the tree- I have only been able to trace back to about 1850. All i know is that there were three branches of the Beaufort/Beauford family, and one went stayed in VA, one went to GA, and one went through KY (the branch I am tracing) down to OK, and eventually migrated into the southwest. Can anyone help me out with names, places? Any living relatives out there??

Since my post I have discovered that Maria Louisa
Beauford was not my ancestor. She married my
gg grandfather, Hiram McGill, but she was not the mother
of his children. I was in contact with some other McGill
cousins and they said she was a very good step-mother, but
the mother of Hiram McGill's children was a
Martha ?
She must have been a good step-mother, as my
grandmother, Marie Louise McGill, was named
after her.
I found that Maria Louisa Beauford was the
daughter of Daniel Ellis, so her maiden name
was "Ellis".

I am looking for realatives of Claude Eliott BEAUFORD and Helen Berneen ELLIS, married sometime before 1940. They had at least two sons, Guy Eliott (born 1940 died 1993) and Sam (died sometime before 1993)
I know of at least one Descendant of Guy, but I dont know anything about BEAUFORDs prior to Claude. I do not have a birth or death date for Claude, but I know that his wife Helen was born in Hickory Hill Township, Wayne County, IL in 1919, and died in Bonnie Illinois earlier this year. I am certain that Claude is dead, but I cannot locate a death certificate or census records for him.
