Please contact me at kmascaro@cssd.org regarding John Beaupre. He would be my Great Uncle. I am trying to find out information about my grandfather's family. The fact that they settled in Florence, MA leads me to believe thatit is the right family.

Looking for information on Eva, Emma, Mary, Arthur and William Beaupre. Eva was my great-grandmother. She was married to Frank King. I am looking for the names of her parents and were they are from. I assume they were born in Canada. I know that Eva lived in Cohoes, NY most of her life and that Arthur Beaupre lived in Washington DC. Emma lived in Mechanicville area, New York, and was Married to David White. I think Mary married a Collozzo (spelling). Am also looking for info on the King Family. All from Cohoes, NY,I believe, Frank and Louis King. Louis was one the Cohoes Police Cheif sometime between 1910 and 1940. email me at renaud@siena.edu if you have any info. Thank you.

Don't think it's a match since according to the dog tag this guy was US Navy. And took another look at the tag. Middle name is Justin.
Never thought the name Francis J. Beaupre would be so common.
I'll try to make contact with the Navy recruiter again. Given that this gent's military ID number is on the tag, I would hope they could trace him as to where he mustered in/out etc. And what his MOS was based on the last set of numbers/letters on the tag.
It may yet lead back to your branch.

By any chance would this Uncle John (Jack) been going by his middle name? i.e. Francis John Beaupre. If there were multiple gents with the same first name, taking use of the middle was often done. Or if he simply didn't like the first name Francis. My sister has never liked her first name, so the first thing she did after dad died was to start using her middle name.
Also, the piece of land this artifact was found on is approximately 40 miles east of Spokane, on one of the major E-W highways of the times.

He was in the Union Army during the Civil War and was wounded (powder burns to the eyes). Later he recovered.
That would be the next generation of Beaupre. My father's Uncle John "Jack" Beaupre lived in MN, MT, and Spokane; he had two sons. As I recall his sons were Robert and Frank (Dad's cousins) and at least one (Robert?) lived in Seattle. I'll do some checking and get back to you.

Basically it would be if he was in U.S. military, and what years. What I have is a dog tag that was used after WWI but before WWII (per History Detectives). I tried to go through the local recruiting office to have them track down this person, and or surviving family. Dog tag has his Service Number, MOS etc. Ancestry.com was of no help. This key case floated up during thaw and frost heave a couple years ago in an area we had tilled for garden. Has been underground for some time. We're in N ID.

He was born May 6, 1928, in Grand Isle, the son of Jean and Mary (Martin) Beaupre.
